Long time Channel Canada contributor TV Gord has passed away

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we would like to announce the passing of a member of the Channel Canada team- Gordon “TV Gord” McDougall.  Long-time contributor and author of the weekly ‘What’s On’ column, passed away at the end of August 2019.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends. TV Gord has been contributing to Channel Canada since 2012 with Fall TV reviews and his weekly “What’s On” articles offering us his take on what to watch in the week ahead.

On behalf of everyone here at Channel Canada, I would like to thank TV Gord for all his hard work, the countless hours of his time he volunteered and his numerous contributions to the site which helped make Channel Canada the go to place for news and views on Canadian TV.  He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

In honour of his memory, we have added a banner announcement at the top of the page which will remain in place until the end of October.  In addition, we will add other media placement throughout the website for the University of Ottawa Heart Institute for the remainder of the year.

In tribute to TV Gord, we would like to pass along the following which was posted by his brother on Facebook regarding ways in which people can honour Mr. McDougall’s memory:
If you would like to do something to honour his memory, I know he would be happy if you register to be an organ donor, make a blood donation or donate to the heart institute. If any/all of those are not possible, you can also honour him be searching out and watching an episode of the Partridge Family, Brady bunch or any Norman Lear show.
