Bulb Television is a new, Canadian, grassroots channel based on innovation, conferences, technology and science. It could be said that Bulb TV is a modern day community channel. Available in both linear and video-on-demand formats, Bulb TV is a platform for new innovative ideas.
All content airs uninterrupted, commercial-free in a non-traditional format. There isn’t a 30 minute nor hourly cycle. It’s one piece of content after another with some Bulb TV promos in between.
Bulb Television has received two broadcast licence decisions for the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). The first is a Digital Category B Television Broadcast Licence to broadcast innovative social conference and lectures (decision 2012-268), and the second is a Video-On-Demand Channel (decision 2012-294). The applications were submitted in September 2011 and they were approved on May 4, 2012. Bulb TV’s signal is available in high definition and down-converted standard definition feed.
Our content pulls from the best. Bulb TV has secured thousands of hours of broadcast quality, high definition footage from conferences and universities from across North America. And it’s not just conferences — we’ve got first run shows in Canada. Bulb TV is rapidly gaining additional interstitials and shows, otherwise not readily available to the Canadian market.
Bulb TV will also be broadcasting live social innovative conferences and major tech product launches. We’ve all see clips of product news for photos, tablets and web startups. Now viewers can watch these events live and uninterrupted, in high definition from the comfort of their own home.
