Brent Butt releases first-ever holiday single in advance of CORNER GAS ANIMATED’s first-ever holiday episode

CORNER GAS ANIMATED’s Brent Butt is pumping out the holiday cheer this season with the release of his first-ever single, the all-new original holiday song “Everyone Can Sing at Christmas,” available today on digital service platforms worldwide. Distributed by Universal Music and Hidden Pony Records, the festive single is available to buy or stream here, including the iHeartRadio Canada app.

Written and performed by Butt, “Everyone Can Sing at Christmas” is co-written by Craig Northey, frontman of longstanding Canadian rock band Odds, who also co-wrote the original CORNER GAS theme song. Destined to become an instant holiday classic, at least in Dog River, the “magically augmented” track sends the message that it’s OK for everyone to sing during the holidays, no matter their ability, including Brent’s. As Brent says, “hell, even I can sing at Christmas!” The festive earworm features traditional holiday song embellishments like a horn section and Christmas bells.

The official animated music video for “Everyone Can Sing at Christmas” is set to premiere Monday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. ET before the 9 p.m. ET/PT broadcast of the next episode of the award-winning series, now in its third season on CTV Comedy Channel. The video features a dapper Brent in suit-and-tie performing a song-and-dance number to the track on a set decked out in Christmas regalia (Elves! Reindeer! Santa!), interspersed with scenes from Christmas in Dog River, before culminating in a chorus line featuring the entire CORNER GAS ANIMATED cast. Watch a sneak peek here.

Then, fans can catch CORNER GAS ANIMATED‘s first-ever holiday episode “Tinsel-itis” on Monday, Dec. 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Comedy Channel. In “Tinsel-itis”, Brent and Lacey (Gabrielle Miller) go to great lengths to find each other the perfect Christmas gift. Hank (Fred Ewanuick) gets conned into helping Oscar (Eric Peterson) and Emma (Corrine Koslo) prep for their annual Christmas party and Wanda (Nancy Robertson) goes to war with Karen (Tara Spencer Nairn) and Davis (Lorne Cardinal) over her extreme Christmas lights display. Watch the trailer here.

During the broadcast, viewers can join in on Twitter watch parties featuring Butt and the cast at 9 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. PT on the official @CornerGas account.
