Chivalry has nowhere to hide as CTV Comedy Channel and Crave jousts with the edgy new stop-motion series CROSSING SWORDS, premiering Thursday, June 18 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. From the team behind the Emmy®-winning animated series ROBOT CHICKEN, the 10-episode, half-hour Medieval comedy follows good hearted peasant Patrick (Nicholas Hoult, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD), whose dream job of being a knight turns out to be more of a knight–mare as he discovers that his beloved kingdom is being run amuck by a group of dysfunctional royals, jesters, and crooks.
Created and written by ROBOT CHICKEN’s John Harvatine IV, who also serves as director, and Tom Root, CROSSING SWORDS is packed with unruly subjects, medieval torture, and even a royal sex dungeon. Joining Holt to bring life to the court of brightly coloured, sometimes nude, peg people is an all-star cast of voices that includes Adam Ray (AMERICAN VANDAL), Tara Strong (TEEN TITANS GO!), Tony Hale (VEEP), Luke Evans (THE ALIENIST), Seth Green (FAMILY GUY), Alanna Ubach (EUPHORIA), Adam Pally (THE MINDY PROJECT), Yvette-Nicole Brown (COMMUNITY), Maya Erskine (PEN15), Breckin Meyer (ROBOT CHICKEN), and Wendi McLendon-Covey (THE GOLDBERGS).
In the premiere episode (Thursday, June 18 at 10 p.m. ET/PT), a young Patrick dreams of earning his knighthood and dispensing justice to evildoers. He’s driven by his goodhearted, earnest nature, but also by guilt – his own siblings are some of the land’s most notorious crooks. However, when Patrick finally lands a coveted squire position at the royal castle, his dream job quickly turns into a nightmare. In this kingdom, corruption starts at the top, and staying true to his lofty goals will be a thornier proposition than Patrick anticipated.
