MAD ABOUT YOU, Again: Award-Winning 90s Sitcom Returns as Limited Series January 7, Exclusively on CTV Comedy Channel

After 12 Emmys®, 4 Golden Globes®, a Peabody Award, and 20 years, the Buchmans are back! Paul Reiser and Academy Award®-winner Helen Hunt reprise their roles as Paul and Jamie Buchman, in a new,12-episode limited series MAD ABOUT YOU, making its Canadian debut exclusively on CTV Comedy Channel and everywhere CTV Comedy content can be found, Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, beginning January 7. Airing two back-to-back episodes each week, CTV Comedy reunites viewers with Paul and Jamie Buchman on the day their daughter Mabel (Abby Quinn, Landline) is off to college.

“Two decades ago, MAD ABOUT YOU was ‘Must See TV’, a show that helped shape the prestige comedies we see today,” said Pat DiVittorio, Vice-President, Programming, CTV and Specialty. “Now, this all-new series is back to lead CTV Comedy’s lineup of laughs in the New Year, as we fall in love with the Buchmans all over again while they embark on a new frontier as empty nesters.”

Familiar faces joining Hunt and Reiser for the MAD ABOUT YOU limited series are John Pankow (EPISODES) as Paul’s cousin Ira, Richard Kind (YOUNG SHELDON) as friend Dr. Mark Devanow, Anne Ramsay (HART OF DIXIE) as Jamie’s sister Lisa Stemple, and Jerry Adler (TRANSPARENT) as Mr. Wicker. New cast additions joining Quinn as Mabel Buchman are Kecia Lewis (THE PASSAGE) as Mark Devanow’s second wife.

Superstar guest stars include legendary comedienne Carol Burnett (THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW), reprising her Emmy®-winning role as Jamie’s mother Theresa Stemple; Cynthia Harris (LAW & ORDER), reprising her role as Paul’s mother Sylvia Buchman; renowned actress Cloris Leachman (THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW; PHYLLIS), as one of Jamie’s therapy patients; Jason Alexander (SEINFELD) playing himself; and Jean Smart (WATCHMEN) as an eccentric best-selling author, lifestyle guru, and podcaster.

In the premiere episode, “The Kid Leaves” (Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 10p.m. ET/PT), when Paul and Jamie drop their daughter Mabel off for her first day of college, it quickly becomes clear that they have very different ideas of what their lives after children will look like. The episode is immediately followed by “Restraining Orders and Puppies” at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, which sees Mabel force Jamie to sign a contract limiting contact for the next 48 hours after too many surprise dorm visits, and suddenly Paul finds himself in the parenting hot seat.
