This July, The Comedy Network Sizzles with Season Finales and Side-Splitting Stand Up Specials

• Forget the fireworks and celebrate the nation’s birthday with a comedic recipe for fun during the CANADA DAY STAND UP MARATHON!, Saturday, June 30 toSunday, July 1.
• Comedy puts a jocular spin on the London 2012 Olympic Games with the Season 2 premiere of TWENTY TWELVE, Sunday, July 8 at 9 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. ET/PT.
• Tune in all month long for brand new Saturday Night Stand Up specials beginning with THE PEE-WEE HERMAN SHOW ON BROADWAY (July 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT), followed by JIM GAFFIGAN: BEYOND THE PALE (July 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT), HANNIBAL BURESS: ANIMAL FURNACE (July 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT) and STEVE BYRNE: THE BYRNE IDENTITY (July 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT).

6 a.m. – 7 p.m. – CANADA DAY STAND UP MARATHON!
Spend Canada’s birthday watching a stand up comedy marathon, beginning withJFL: A TRIBUTE TO NERDS at 6 a.m., followed by specials from Russell Peters, Gabriel Iglasias, John Pinette, Robin Williams, Norm MacDonald, Denis Leary and Jeff Dunham.

8 p.m. – BETTY WHITE’S OFF THEIR ROCKERS – Episode 5
A woman claims she’s a young girl’s grandmother and a senior with a radar gun scolds speedy walkers.

8:30 p.m. – BETTY WHITE’S OFF THEIR ROCKERS – Episode 6
Two nuns try to raise funds for breast awareness, while an oldster decides to make his own alterations on a shirt he likes in a store. Also, an old man escapes blame for insulting a security guard, and one prankster enlists a friendly stranger to help secure his car – with tape.

9 p.m. – TWENTY TWELVE – Episode 5
The Olympic Deliverance team must appoint the Curator of the Cultural Olympiad, but the members are forced to pick a candidate they all agree they do not want. Meanwhile, Sebastian Coe suggests it would generate good publicity if the team entered the London Marathon.

9:45 p.m. – TWENTY TWELVE – Episode 6 *Season 1 Finale*
A decision to hold equestrian events in Greenwich Park causes some major issues and leads to the delivery of a smelly package to the Olympic Deliverance Commission’s office, and a heated live debate on Radio 4.

Monday, July 2
10 p.m. – JUST FOR LAUGHS GALAS
Danny Bhoy – Half-Scottish, half-Indian, Bhoy’s charm and universally identifiable material has been selling out shows worldwide for over a decade.

Deb DiGiovanni – Considered one of Canada’s fastest-rising comedy starts, DiGiovanni has hosted both the Geminis and the Genies and was a Top 10 finalist on LAST COMIC STANDING.

John Cleese – The man, the legend. If you don’t know Monthy Python co-founder Cleese from his appearances on FAWLTY TOWERS, James Bond, Harry Potter, or Shrek, then you really need to get out more.

Tuesday, July 3

In another special team edition episode, contestants battle one another in spine-chilling games that involve coffins, pitfalls, and poison.

A day of revelations and danger builds to the ultimate showdown between Todd and Atticus at the Crowley High Semi-Formal.

Friday, July 6
10:30 p.m. – SCARE TACTICS – “Twilight My Fire” *Season Finale*
Two undercover journalists offend a satanic cult, and a security guard tries to fend off treasure thieves. Also, an investigative reporter dresses up like a woman to infiltrate an extreme feminist club and a music therapist’s assistant must sing a lullaby to soothe a savage prisoner.

Saturday, July 7
9 p.m. – SATURDAY NIGHT STAND UP: THE PEEWEE HERMAN SHOW ON BROADWAY
Subversive humour and childlike wonder. Based on the original stage show, Paul Reubens’ beloved, bow-tied character of 1980s TV and movie fame is reunited with such familiar faces as Mailman Mike, Jambi, Cowboy Curtis and Miss Yvonne.

Sunday, July 8
8 p.m. – BETTY WHITE’S OFF THEIR ROCKERS – Episode 7
A senior prankster samples food meant for customers, and a widow tries to fulfill her late husband’s last request. An oldster also borrows a girl’s cell phone to make a lengthy long-distance call. Rob Schneider (Happy Gilmour) guest stars.

8:30 p.m. – BETTY WHITE’S OFF THEIR ROCKERS – Episode 8
Adam West (Batman) searches for a masked man in a cape, while oldsters ask young couples to “swing” with them and a prankster maintains that his heart came from a surprising donor.

9 p.m. – TWENTY TWELVE – “Boycott, Part 1” *Season 2 Premiere*
Ian (Hugh Bonneville), Sally (Olivia Colman) and Siobhan (Jessica Hynes) are forced to endure another crisis when the Algerian team threatens to boycott the Games after discovering the Shared Belief Centre does not face Mecca.

9:45 p.m. – TWENTY TWELVE – “Boycott, Part 2”
The Algerians issue the Olympic Deliverance team with a midnight deadline to find a solution to their demand for a Shared Belief Centre that faces Mecca.

Monday, July 9
10 p.m. – JUST FOR LAUGHS GALAS
Jimmy Carr – Deadpan, dark, and a one-liner genius, Carr is one of the very best comics working in the UK today.

Marc Maron – Host of the tremendously popular podcast WTF, Maron has a dry, intelligent delivery that has earned him a wide fan-base and appearances on both CONAN and the LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN.

Mike MacDonald – One of Canada’s very best comic voices, MacDonald has a storied career of successful stand-up, TV, and film appearances including headlining spots on the LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN and THE ARSENIO HALL SHOW.

Tuesday, July 10

10:30 p.m. – TOTAL BLACKOUT – “Fear is Served”
In absolute darkness and making it through three challenges, contestants must serve dinner to carnivorous creatures, fondle things of all shapes and sizes, and put to rest their harrowing arachnophobia.

9 p.m. – SATURDAY NIGHT STAND UP: JIM GAFFIGAN: BEYOND THE PALE
Beyond Jim Gaffigan’s white guy, “everyman” exterior is a passion for life, laughs and fine food…particularly hot pockets. Filmed in Chicago’s historic Vic Theater, the JIM GAFFIGAN: BEYOND THE PALE special showcases the comic’s humorous perspective on everyday situations, his deadpan delivery, and knack for pointing out the not-so-obvious. From the very first moments, Gaffigan’s unique comedic persona takes over with an irrepressible “inside voice” that keeps wickedly popping out, causing viewers to crack up with laughter.

A lost skydiver asks for directions, a prankster continually hugs a stranger, and two nuns pull pranks on passersby.

9 p.m. – TWENTY TWELVE – “Clarence House”
Clarence House asks the team members to explore ways of linking the Games with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and they face a rough ride when a decision has to be made on the future of the Olympic Stadium.

9:45 p.m. – TWENTY TWELVE – “The Rapper”
Siobhan (Jessica Hynes) and the Olympic Deliverance team help to organize a major sexual health campaign, complete with a rap song that could upset the Catholic competitors.

Monday, July 16
10 p.m. – JUST FOR LAUGHS GALAS
Nick Thune – Part actor, part comedian, part musician, Thune’s uniquely musical stand-up routines and his appearance in Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up have ensured that his already-impressive popularity continues to rise.

Angelo Tsarouchas – Greek-Canadian heavyweight Tsarouchas pulls no punches in his brilliant stand-up routines, earning him sell-out successes in his shows worldwide.

Caroline Rhea – Born in Montreal, Rhea made a name for herself in the successful 90s sitcom SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH, and she has since continued to please audiences of both stage and screen. Rhea has appeared on THE DREW CAREY SHOW and CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, and has even hosted her own TV series, THE CAROLINE RHEA SHOW.

Tuesday, July 17

Players must avoid an obstruction in the dark, identify bizarre things in a bath, and reach into seemingly dangerous tanks.

In his first hour-long special, Chicago-bred, New York-based Buress brings his celebrated deadpan wit to life’s absurdities with stories of his three-cop jaywalking bust in Montreal, a bloodless airport shoot-out, and various late nights with questionable women. In front of a live audience at the Gramercy Theatre in New York, Buress re-imagines hardcore rappers as real estate agents and skewers grown men who can’t hold their liquor.

8 p.m. – BETTY WHITE’S OFF THEIR ROCKERS – Episode 11
An elderly woman fears getting carded when buying beer and a vendor samples the drinks she’s selling. Meanwhile, two men on bleachers insist on doing the wave, and a senior steals a walker.

8:30 p.m. – BETTY WHITE’S OFF THEIR ROCKERS – Episode 12 *Season Finale*
Elderly pranksters try to recruit a male friend for a “bromance,” and also offer massages to passersby. Other pranks include a man giving citations at a mall, and two old ladies wooing a young man.

Monday, July 23
10 p.m. – JUST FOR LAUGHS GALAS
Gerry Dee – A Toronto high school teacher turned stand-up comedian, Dee won top male comic at the 2008 Canadian Comedy Awards and has been on the rise ever since, earning third place on LAST COMIC STANDING, and starring his very own sitcom MR. D.

Frank Spadone – Irish-Catholic-Canadian, Spadone is a fast-rising star on the Canadian comedy scene and has recently been touring worldwide. He can be seen in Hollywood movies and popular Canadian TV commercials alike.

Bobcat Goldthwait – If you’ve ever heard one of Goldthwait’s routines, you’d know why he has consistently been ranked as one of the best, most distinctive voices in stand-up comedy for the past 20 years. A tour-de-force performer in his own right, Goldthwait is also proficient behind the comedic lens, having directed episodes of CRANK YANKERS and CHAPPELLES’ SHOW.
