Bravo! Lays Down the Law with Two New Series, FRANKLIN & BASH and SUITS, Premiering August 22

It’s a race to the courthouse as Bravo! welcomes an irreverent team of leading lawyers to its Monday night lineup, beginningAugust 22. First on the docket, comedy-dramaFRANKLIN & BASH, airingMondays at 9 p.m. ET, kicks off the proceedings with the first of two back-to-back premieres, exclusively on Bravo! Starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar (NYPD BLUE) and Breckin Meyer (Road Trip), the hour-long series zeros in on a pair of non-traditional, bad-boy, street lawyers recruited to join one of Los Angeles’ top law firms. TNT recently announced that the series has been green lit for a second season on the heels of a strong summer debut. Next up, is the hour-long drama SUITS, airing Mondays at 10 p.m. ET. Starring Gabriel Macht (Love and Other Drugs) along with Toronto-nativePatrick J. Adams (LOST, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS), the pair play the best legal closer in New York and the college-dropout genius he takes under his wing. Shot in New York and Toronto, the series launches with a special 90-minute premiere episode (visit bravo.ca to confirm local broadcast times).

In FRANKLIN & BASH, Peter Bash (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Jared Franklin (Breckin Meyer) are best friends and young attorneys with a no-holds-barred courtroom style. Peter has a knack for connecting with the judge and jury and Jared loves sticking it to authority every chance he gets. They are dedicated lawyers and surprisingly better than their hot-shot looks and frat-boyish behaviour lead most people to believe. The duo are recruited to the buttoned-down law firm Infeld Daniels by its eccentric patriarch Stanton Infeld (Malcolm McDowell, HEROES, ENTOURAGE), causing a seismic culture clash at the firm.

In the premiere episode (Monday, August 22 at 9 p.m. ET), the wise-cracking pair and their equally oddball staff – researcher Pindar Singh (Kumail Nanjiani, MICHAEL & MICHAEL HAVE ISSUES) and paralegal Carmen Phillips (Dana Davis, 10 Things I Hate About You) join the firm and enter the world of high-stakes corporate law. With the promise of some creative liberty, the partners tackle their first case involving a pilot accused of causing a plane crash by joining the mile high club with a flight attendant, and make an immediate enemy in the firm’s star lawyer, Infeld’s nephew Damien Karp (Reed Diamond, HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET).

No law degree, no problem. In the carefully-crafted series SUITS, one of the most brilliant lawyers in New York City, Mike Ross (breakout Toronto-native Patrick J. Adams, LOST, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) doesn’t even have a degree. Unmotivated but brilliant, Mike passed the bar exam without attending law school. While running from a drug deal gone bad, the street-smart college dropout lands a job with one of the city’s best legal closers, Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). Cold-blooded legal shark Harvey has a reputation for breaking the rules. When it comes time to hire an associate, he takes a gamble on Mike after recognizing that this legal prodigy has the book smarts of a Harvard law grad and the street smarts of a hustler.

In the special 90-minute SUITS premiere (Monday, August 22 at 10 p.m. ET), Mike must quickly prove his worth to Harvey in order to save their jobs and keep their secret from everyone including managing partner Jessica (Gina Torres, GOSSIP GIRL) and Harvey’s arch nemesis Louis (Rick Hoffman, SAMANTHA WHO). To win Harvey’s approval, he’ll need to put his genius, photographic memory, charisma and street smarts to the test. But to survive the cutthroat world of high-profile law, he’ll also need Harvey’s wisdom and guidance. And while Harvey may seem like he’s emotionless, Mike’s sympathy and concern for their cases and clients help remind Harvey why he went into the law in the first place.
