Bravo’s 19-2 Premiere Reached 872,000 Viewers

The premiere episode of Bravo’s new original series 19-2 has shot straight to the heart of English Canada viewers as the adaptation of the hit Québec drama debuted to impressive numbers on Bravo and CTV Wednesday and Thursday. The two premieres delivered an impressive cumulative audience of 1.1 million viewers in total. The episode is available now on Bravo.ca, and the Bravo GO app.

Last night’s one-time-only broadcast on CTV saw the series introduced to a preliminary overnight audience of 872,000 viewers, making it the most-watched conventional debut of a Canadian drama series since MOTIVE in Feb. 2013. 19-2 was the third most-watched drama Thursday night on Canadian television in total viewers and all key adult demos, following SAVING HOPE (1.35 million) and ELEMENTARY (1.19 million).

On Bravo, Wednesday night’s premiere of 19-2 drew 140,000 viewers, making it the most-watched Canadian original series debut on the channel since THE BORGIAS in 2010. The debut grew Bravo’s 9 p.m. timeslot by 70% among A25-54 and 82% for A18-49.* Canadians were abuzz with anticipation for the series, as the hashtag #19Two began trending on Twitter on Wednesday.

“We are delighted that 19-2 has started off so strong on Bravo, and has been sampled by so many on CTV,” said Catherine MacLeod, Senior Vice-President, Specialty Channels and Bell Media House Production. “As the plot deepens with each new episode, viewers will be treated to many unexpected developments, which is why this series has become addictive television in Québec. English Canada has no idea what’s in store for them next.”

In next week’s episode entitled “Deer,” (Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. ET exclusively on Bravo) a showdown between rival street gangs goes terribly wrong, leaving Ben’s (Jared Keeso) life in danger. Squad 19 gathers at Marie’s for the Sergeant’s party and Isabelle (Maxim Roy) discovers Nick (Adrian Holmes) may have feelings for someone else.

19-2 is co-produced by Sphère Média Plus and Echo Media in association with Bell Media. Executive producers are Jocelyn Deschênes and Carolyn Newman from Sphère Média Plus and Luc Châtelain from Echo Media. 19-2 is an English-adaptation of the hit Québec series from the creators and stars of the original, Réal Bossé and Claude Legault and director Podz. Executive Producer Bruce Smith (DURHAM COUNTY) also acts as showrunner and writer. Jesse Mckeown (DAVINCI’S INQUEST, ROGUE) and Virginia Rankin are co-executive producers. Directors are Louis Choquette, who also directed the series’ pilot episode, and Érik Canuel. Production Executives for Bell Media are Gosia Kamela and Tom Hastings. Trish Williams is Director, Independent Production, Bell Media. Corrie Coe is Senior Vice-President, Independent Production, Bell Media. Catherine MacLeod is Senior Vice-President, Specialty Channels and Bell Media Production. Phil King is President, CTV, Sports, and Entertainment Programming.
