Hosted by Broadway star Louise Pitre (Mamma Mia), and based on the hit BBC program, STAR PORTRAITS brings together three Canadian artists to paint portraits of the same celebrity. David Suzuki (Sept. 11) kicks off the highly-anticipated second season, followed by Mary Walsh (Sept. 18), and Rex Harrington (Sept. 25). Upcoming celebrity guests include Gordon Pinsent, Lauren Woolstencroft, Craig Kielburger, Seán Cullen, FASHIONTELEVISION’s Jeanne Beker, ETALK’s Tanya Kim, and Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy.

Bravo! presents all seven seasons of WITHOUT A TRACE in a new weekday strip. Executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI), this fast-paced drama series details the time-sensitive investigations of the New York-based FBI Missing Persons Squad. Starring: Anthony LaPaglia, Poppy Montgomery, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Enrique Marciano, and Eric Close.

DA VINCI’S INQUEST (Season 1) – Bravo! Premiere

One of Canada’s longest running, critically acclaimed dramatic series, DA VINCI’S INQUEST, lands on Bravo! this fall. Winning the Gemini Award for Best Dramatic Series for five of its first six seasons, DA VINCI’S INQUEST follows Vancouver coroners, pathologists, and detectives as they inhabit a murky world and attempt to solve mysteries behind suspicious deaths. Starring Nicholas Campbell as the charismatic and controversial coroner Dominic Da Vinci.

GREAT CANADIAN BOOKS – Bravo! Premiere
Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT (beginning Sept. 11)
Each episode of GREAT CANADIAN BOOKS features a Canadian figurehead including Justin Trudeau, Rex Harrington, and Canadian Olympic champion Silken Laumann, who review their favourite Canadian novels and bring them to life for the small screen. Award-winning books reviewed in the series include Late Nights On Air, Whale Music, and Fugitive Pieces. Comedian/actress Mary Walsh (Sept. 11) kicks off the series with her thoughts on Michael Crummey’s Hard Light.

Bravo! SPECIALS

2010 POLARIS MUSIC PRIZE – Bravo! Premiere
Monday, September 27 at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT
Bravo! recognizes and celebrates the talent of Canadian musical artists with the 2010 POLARIS MUSIC PRIZE. The annual music award is given to the best full-length Canadian album and is judged based solely on artistic merit. The Prize’s shortlist of nominees includes Broken Social Scene for their latest album Forgiveness Rock Record and Tegan and Sara for their album Sainthood.

Bravo! AT NINE

Bravo! continues to deliver diverse, high-quality arts programming that caters to every artistic taste with its new BRAVO! AT NINE slot. Each week (Mon.–Thur.), Bravo! delivers award-winning documentaries, original productions and performance specials daily at 9 p.m. ET. This month’s highlight is the Bravo! premiere of PETE SEEGER: THE POWER OF SONG (Sept. 20). The only authorized biography of the legendary folk singer, the documentary features never-before-seen archival footage, personal home videos of Seeger and his wife, and celebrity appearances by Bob Dylan, Bill Clinton and Bruce Springsteen. Other BRAVO! AT NINE highlights include ROD STEWART: ONE NIGHT ONLY (Sept. 7); FESTIVAL EXPRESS (Sept. 13), featuring Janis Joplin, Grateful Dead and The Band; SOUNDS LIKE MOTOWN (Sept. 21), based on Motown superstar Martha Reeves; and Peter Wintonick’s PilgrIMAGE (Sept. 23).

Bravo! cinema

Bravo! celebrates this year’s Toronto International Film Festival® with a selection of Canadian films that created buzz at TIFF and/or on the Canadian film scene, beginning with Weird Sex and Snowshoes (Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. ET) featuring Don McKellar and Atom Egoyan. Other films include the Bravo! premiere of Amal (Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. ET) and Deepa Mehta’s Water (Sept. 18 at 8 a.m. ET).

FRIDAY FEATURES
Fridays at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT (beginning Sept. 10)
In addition to Bravo!’s SATURDAY CINEMA and SUNDAY CINEMA blocks, the channel has added a third cinema block, titled FRIDAY FEATURES, which provides viewers with a selection of their favourite flicks to kick off their weekend of movie watching. This month’s FRIDAY FEATURES line-up includes Patch Adams (Sept. 10), Scent of a Woman (Sept 17), and Shakespeare in Love (Sept 24).
