Week of August 3-9: Programming Highlights for The CTV Channel Group

MUST-WATCH FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 3

CTV: All-new episodes of MARY’S KITCHEN CRUSH return Sundays beginning Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV. In the all-new episode titled, “Tuesday Night”, host Mary Berg shows viewers that Tuesdays don’t have to mean take-out, even when entertaining guests midweek! When it’s burger night for her husband Aaron’s buds, Berg impresses her hungry diners with a no-fuss meal, serving up some juicy bison chorizo smash burgers. There is no meat without potatoes, and Berg’s deliciously warm potato salad packs a punch. As the cherry on top, Berg serves up a sweet cherry ice cream sandwich.

CTV Comedy Channel: As the Canadian comedy community continues to be affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, CTV Comedy Channel, in association with Just For Laughs, lines up four Crave Original stand-up specials in support of homegrown comics. Airing Monday to Thursday at 11 p.m. ET/PT, the four-night event includes the broadcast premieres of AISHA BROWN: THE FIRST BLACK WOMAN EVER (August 3), TOM HENRY: 66 JOKES (August 4), MARK FORWARD WINS ALL THE AWARDS (August 5), and ROBBY HOFFMAN: I’M NERVOUS (August 6). During each special, viewers are invited to donate to the Emergency Relief Fund for Canadian Comedians organized by the Canadian Association of Stand-up Comedians.

CTV Drama Channel: On an all-new episode of IN THE DARK, Thursday, August 6 at 9 p.m. ET, Murphy (Perry Mattfeld, SHAMELESS) and Felix (Morgan Krantz, NEUROTICA) swing for the fences when they attempt to execute the plan to end their arrangement with Nia (Nicki Micheaux, LINCOLN HEIGHTS). Meanwhile, finding himself in dire circumstances, Dean (Rich Sommer, MAD MEN) seeks the help of a former colleague.

CTV Life Channel: Real-life couple Chef Rodney Bowers and radio and TV personality Meredith Shaw turn a seafood boil into two delicious dinner options in an all-new episode of DOUBLE YOUR DISH on Monday, August 3 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

CTV Sci-Fi Channel’s STAR TREK: BELOW DECKS, the latest expansion in the franchise, debuts on Thursday, August 6 at 9 p.m. ET. Developed by RICK AND MORTY’s Mike McMahan, the animated comedy series follows Ensigns Mariner (Tawny Newsome, SPACE FORCE), Boimler (Jack Quaid, THE BOYS), Rutherford (Eugene Cordero, TACOMA FD) and Tendi (Noël Wells, MASTER OF NONE) as they keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the U.S.S. Cerritos is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.

CTV Movies: The action-packed Western film American Outlaws joins CTV Movies on Thursday, Aug. 6, depicting the origin story of the infamous outlaw Jesse James. When the residents of a small town in Missouri become outraged over the plans of a conniving businessman intending to move them out to make way for a railroad, a band of brothers including Jesse James (Colin Farrell, TRUE DETECTIVE) and Frank (Gabriel Macht, SUITS) unite together and perform a series of robberies designed to hurt the railroad.

CTV Digital: In an all-new episode of UNITED WE FALL, available exclusively on CTV.ca and the CTV app beginning Aug. 6, Jo (Christina Vidal, SNEAKY PETE) steps in as a role model for her teenage niece, much to the dismay of her strict father Chuy (Guillermo Diaz, SCANDAL). Later, while under the influence of post-colonoscopy drugs, Sandy (Jane Curtin, 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN) inadvertently professes her love for her first husband.
