Week of June 29 – July 5: Programming Highlights for CTV and the CTV Specialty Channel Group

MUST-WATCH FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 29

CTV: In an all-new episode of BLINDSPOT, airing Thursday, July 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, the team scrambles to get ahead of Madeline (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, GRIMM) and Ivy (Julee Cerda, BLUE BLOODS) as they close in on the bunker’s location. Someone on the inside is feeding Madeline information, and as her plan takes shape, the team may be forced to take desperate measures.

CTV Comedy Channel: CTV Comedy Original THE STAND UP SHOW WITH JON DORE premieres Tuesday, June 30 at 10 pm. ET/PT. Filmed at the 2019 Just For Laughs festival in Montréal, the one-hour series sees renowned Canadian comic Jon Dore take the stage to spotlight some of the biggest and up-and-coming names in comedy, including Sasheer Zamata, Kyle Brownrigg, LETTERKENNY’s Mark Forward, and Jackie Pirico. Tuesday night’s premiere showcases comedians: Nigel Grinstead, Comedian CP, Megan Gailey, Robert Kelly, Tom Allen, and Jessimae Peluso.

CTV Drama Channel: IN THE DARK continues with an all-new episode, Thursday, July 2 at 9 p.m. ET, as Murphy’s (Perry Mattfeld, SHAMELESS) choices plunge the Guiding Hope crew deeper into Nia’s (Nicki Micheaux, LINCOLN HEIGHTS) game. Meanwhile, pressure mounts as Darnell (Keston John, SHE-RA AND THE PRINCESSES OF POWER) fails to deliver on his commitment and Max (Casey Deidrick, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) realizes that escaping his prior life is even harder than he thought. 

CTV Life Channel: Premiering Monday, June 29 at 8:30 p.m. ET, the Bell Media Studios Original Series DOUBLE YOUR DISH offers homebound cooks kitchen inspiration amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A first of its kind in Canada, the timely, self-shot series sees real-life couple Chef Rodney Bowers and radio and TV personality Meredith Shaw each put their own unique spin on a base recipe to create two totally different dishes while explaining their personal connection to the recipe.

CTV Sci-Fi Channel: The battle to save the world continues for the misfit superheroes of DOOM PATROL in an all-new episode Thursday, July 2 at 9 p.m. ET as Cliff (Brendan Fraser, The Mummy franchise), Jane (Diane Guerrero, ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK), and Rita (April Bowlby, DROP DEAD DIVA) pursue Dr. Tyme (Brandon Perea, THE OA) and his time-altering space mineral in their reluctant quest to help Niles (Timothy Dalton, PENNY DREADFUL) and Dorothy (Abigail Shapiro).

CTV Throwback and CTV Movies: Seasons 1 and 2 of the musical sitcom THE MONKEES join CTV Throwback on Thursday, July 2. The series tells the story of four young musicians, Dave, Micky, Mike, and Peter – played by the members of the real life pop sensation band of the same name: Dave Jones, Micky Dolenze, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork – as they try to make it in the rock and roll world. The fictitious story follows the young male group as they experience successes and struggles, all while tying the band’s real life popular hits into their characters’ comedic storylines.
