Week of September 14-20: Programming Highlights for The CTV Channel Group

MUST-WATCH FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 14

CTV: Television’s biggest night is here with the 72ND ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the awards air live Sunday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV. Due to the global pandemic, this year marks the first-ever virtual awards ceremony with Kimmel hosting from the Staples Centre stage in Los Angeles, with 138 other stars across 114 locations making appearances and presenting awards via video call-in. The awards ceremony will announce the winners list from television’s most celebrated and acclaimed primetime series and actor nominees, with an incredible 200 nominations for Bell Media programming, including THIS IS US, THE MASKED SINGER, BOB HEARTS ABISHOLA, and THE CONNERS, among others.

CTV Comedy Channel:
As the 2020 U.S. presidential election inches closer, viewers can continue to count on THE DAILY SOCIAL DISTANCING SHOW WITH TREVOR NOAH’s critical political coverage, Monday to Thursday at 11 p.m. ET/PT.

CTV Drama Channel
’s LOVE LIFE continues with two all-new episodes on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 9 p.m. ET and 9:30 p.m. ET. After running into old flame and his new girlfriend, Darby (Anna Kendrick, Pitch Perfect) joins her friend Sara (Zoe Chao, Where’d You Go, Bernadette) at a rooftop party where she winds up connecting with an overeager, romantically bruised suitor.

CTV Life Channel’s LET’S BRUNCH returns for Season 2, Friday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET, as host Vanessa Gianfrancesco (ONE WORLD KITCHEN) shares her delicious bread-based brunch recipes. First on the menu, Gianfrancesco bakes up perfectly fluffy breakfast bread, complete with a lesson on how to bake like her nonna. Next, she ‘proposes a toast’ by turning that same bread into an exciting brunch spread with her toast toppers. Then, Gianfrancesco builds the ultimate brunch club sandwich, a towering masterpiece. Finally, she bakes cinnamon bread pudding; made with toasted bread, creamy custard, and brandy-plumped raisins, and served with decadent brandy spiked caramel sauce.

CTV Sci-Fi Channel rolls out a TRANSFORMERS MARATHON on Sunday, Sept. 20 beginning with TRANSFORMERS at 6 p.m. ET, followed by TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN at 9 p.m. ET, and then culminated by TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON at 12:30 a.m. ET.

CTV Throwback: Seasons 1-4 of the classic ’70s action series STARSKY AND HUTCH joins CTV Throwback on Thursday, Sept. 17. The series follows two Southern California police detectives: David Michael Starsky (Paul Michael Glaser, THIRD WATCH), the Brooklyn transplant and U.S. Army veteran, with a street-wise manner; and Kenneth Richard “Hutch” Hutchinson (David Soul, MAGNUM FORCE), the divorced, Minnesota native with a more reserved and intellectual demeanor. The detectives take on dope dealers, muggers, and other thugs, aided by their red-and-white 1974 Ford Gran Torino and informant Huggy Bear (Antonio Fargas, SHAFT). Both bachelors’ private lives play as interweaving threads in the series’ drama.
