Week of September 21-27: Programming Highlights for The CTV Channel Group

MUST-WATCH FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 21

CTV: Season 2 of CTV Original comedy JANN premieres Monday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV. Jann’s (Jann Arden) hilarious, attention-drawing antics continue as the second season picks up immediately following last season’s cliff-hanger finale. Jann cuts her Burning Woman Tour short to be there for the birth of her sister Max (Zoie Palmer, DARK MATTER) and brother-in-law Dave’s (Patrick Gilmore, TRAVELERS) baby, and is surprised when nobody is happy to see her. She becomes determined to patch things up with her family and her on-again, off-again girlfriend, Cynthia (Sharon Taylor, BAD BLOOD). Meanwhile, a musical rival (guest star Sarah McLachlan) tracks Jann down, and she’s pissed.

CTV Comedy Channel: Filmed at Los Angeles’ historic Largo at the Coronet, CONAN continues to offer viewers levity through celebrity interviews, sketches, and stand-up comedy with all-new episodes airing Weeknights at 11:45 p.m. ET/PT.

CTV Drama Channel
’s LOVE LIFE continues with two all-new episodes on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. ET and 9:30 p.m. ET. Facing her fear of rejection, Darby (Anna Kendrick, Pitch Perfect) recalls being stranded at boarding school for Thanksgiving break, and spending a blissful week with too-cool-for-school Luke (Griffin Gluck, AMERICAN VANDAL); however, Luke becomes aloof when the student body returns to campus.

CTV Life Channel: LET’S BRUNCH continues with an all-new episode, Friday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET, as host Vanessa Gianfrancesco (ONE WORLD KITCHEN) prepares her favourite Chinese-inspired brunch dishes beginning with shrimp dumplings. Next, her pork bao buns combine roast pork, delicious hoisin, fluffy steamed buns, and crunchy fresh veggies for a treat that is sure to impress. For a heartier meal, Gianfrancesco shares a quick homemade congee recipe topped with crispy beef, scallions, and hard cooked eggs. Then, for dessert, Gianfrancesco serves up an egg tart with fresh vanilla bean.

CTV Sci-Fi Channel takes viewers along for a two-day X-MEN MARATHON beginning on Saturday, Sept. 26 with X-MEN (9 p.m. ET) and X2: X-MEN UNITED (11:15 p.m. ET). The marathon continues on Sunday, Sept. 27 with X-MEN: THE LAST STAND (1:30 p.m. ET), X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE (4:15 p.m. ET), THE WOLVERINE (6:15 p.m. ET), and LOGAN (9 p.m. ET).

CTV Movies: The romantic comedy Jumping the Broom joins CTV Movies on Thursday, Sept. 24. Sabrina Watson (Paula Patton, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) is a successful corporate lawyer who comes from an old-money family. When she meets Jason Taylor (Laz Alonso, LA’S FINEST), she thinks she’s found Mr. Right and eagerly accepts the Wall Street worker’s marriage proposal after a whirlwind romance. However, when Watson’s aristocratic parents (Angela Bassett, Black Panther; Brian Stokes Mitchell, MR. ROBOT.) meet Jason’s postal-worker mother (Loretta Devine, GREY’S ANATOMY) at their estate in Martha’s Vineyard, the class division is very apparent, causing the couple to question if their union will survive despite their different backgrounds.
