A New Heroine Comes to Light When All-New Sci-Fi Action Series PANDORA Premieres July 16, Exclusively on Space

Sci-fi action series PANDORA lands on Space (soon to be CTV Sci-Fi Channel) with the exclusive premiere on Tuesday, July 16 at 8 p.m. ET. Set in the year 2199, the 13-episode, one-hour series stars Priscilla Quintana (Traffik) as Jax, a resourceful young woman who finds a new life at Earth’s Space Training Academy after her parents are killed in a mysterious attack on a distant Earth colony.

In this coming-of-age series, Jax and her friends at the Earth’s Space Training Academy learn to defend the Galaxy from threats, both alien and human. When secrets about the nature of Jax’s own identity begin to surface she must uncover the truth, and discover whether she will be humanity’s savior or the instrument of its destruction. PANDORA also stars Oliver Dench (Ride), Raechelle Banno (Home and Away), Banita Sandhu (October), John Harlan Kim (THE LIBRARIANS), Ben Cross (Star Trek, Chariots of Fire), Martin Bobb-Semple (FREE REIN), Noah Huntley (28 Days Later) Tommie Earl Jenkins (Papi Chulo), and Vikash Bhai (MCMAFIA).

PANDORA offers a perfect mix of a self-discovery drama with rushes of adrenaline-filled action, which we are confident will deliver an exciting experience to Canadian viewers,” said Pat DiVittorio, Vice-President, Programming, CTV and Specialty. “We are thrilled to welcome this fresh and gripping sci-fi series to Space’s summer lineup of premium genre programming.”

In the series premiere (Tuesday, July 16 at 8 p.m. ET), Jax enrolls in Earth Confederacy Fleet Academy after her parents are killed during a mysterious attack on a distant Earth colony. At the Academy, Jax discovers that her Uncle, Donovan Osborn (Noah Huntley), a respected professor, is not who she thought he was, but rather the leader of a super-covert spy agency on Earth. Unbeknownst to Jax, Donovan has learned that Jax (a.k.a. Pandora) is not actually fully human. But if she’s not, what is she? And is Pandora the instrument of our salvation or of our destruction?

PANDORA brings even more action to Space this summer as it joins a lineup of fan-favourites, including the fifth and final season of KILLJOYS (premiering Friday, July 19 at 10 p.m. ET) as well as all-new episodes of KRYPTON Season 2 (Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET).
