All-New Animated Series STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS Lands August 6 on CTV Sci-Fi Channel and Crave

CTV Sci-Fi Channel, along with Crave, announced today that the the latest expansion in the STAR TREK franchise, STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS, is set to debut August 6. Set in the year 2380, the animated comedy series follows the support crew on U.S.S. Cerritos, one of Starfleet’s least important ships. Developed by RICK AND MORTY’s Mike McMahan, Season 1 of the 10-episode series airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET, beginning August 6 on CTV Sci-Fi and streams Thursdays on Crave, day and date with the U.S.

“Forever innovating and breaking new ground, the STAR TREK legacy has left an impression on Canadians, and remain an impactful draw for our platforms,” said Mike Cosentino, President, Content and Programming, Bell Media. “We’re delighted to exclusively deliver this light-hearted chapter of the iconic franchise to viewers and subscribers.”

The Starfleet crew residing in the “lower decks” of the U.S.S. Cerritos, include:

“Ensign Beckett Mariner”, voiced by Tawny Newsome

“Ensign Brad Boimler”, voiced by Jack Quaid

“Ensign Tendi”, voiced by Noël Wells

“Ensign Rutherford”, voiced by Eugene Cordero

The Starfleet characters that comprise the ship’s bridge crew include:

“Captain Carol Freeman” voiced by Dawnn Lewis
“Commander Jack Ransom” voiced by Jerry O’Connell
“Lieutenant Shaxs” voiced by Fred Tatasciore
“Doctor T’Ana” voiced by Gillian Vigman

In STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS, Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford and Tendi have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.

STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS is produced by CBS Eye Animation Productions, CBS Television Studios’ new animation arm; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment and is distributed internationally by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group. Secret Hideout’s Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin and Roddenberry Entertainment’s Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth and Katie Krentz serve as executive producers alongside creator and showrunner McMahan. Aaron Baiers, who brought McMahan to the project, will serve as a co-executive producer.
