CTV Sci-Fi Channel Delivers All-New Summer Scare with Horror Series CHAPELWAITE, August 22

CTV Sci-Fi Channel deals with bad ‘manors’ when all-new horror series CHAPELWAITE premieres Sunday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT beginning August 22. Based on the short story Jerusalem’s Lot by Stephen King, the 10-episode, one-hour American gothic series follows Captain Charles Boone (Adrien Brody) who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. Recent college graduate and aspiring novelist, Rebecca Morgan (Hampshire), also returns to the small, seemingly sleepy town with hopes of becoming the family’s governess.

New episodes are also available to stream on CTV.ca and on the CTV app.

Set in the 1850s, CHAPELWAITE sees Charles confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history and fight to end the darkness that has haunted the Boones for generations. Rebecca Morgan, an ambitious young woman who left Preacher’s Corners to attend Mount Holyoke College, has returned home with an advance to write a story for the new and prestigious Atlantic Magazine. Her writer’s block lifts when Boone arrives in town with his children, and, Rebecca applies to be governess of the infamous Chapelwaite manor and the Boone family in order to write about them. In doing so, Rebecca will not only draft the next great gothic novel, she will unravel a mystery that has plagued her own family for years.

In the premiere episode of CHAPELWAITE, “Blood Calls Blood” (Sunday, August 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Sci-Fi), Captain Charles Boone inherits his wealthy cousin’s estate and relocates his family to small-town Maine. The Boones encounter prejudice, hostility, a mystery illness, and murder as Charles begins a dangerous journey of self-discovery.

CHAPELWAITE is written by brothers Peter Filardi (The Craft) and Jason Filardi (17 Again). In addition to Brody, the series is executive produced by Donald De Line (Ready Player One), the Filardi brothers, and Burr Steers. CHAPELWAITE is produced by EPIX Studios.
