The subject at the centre of the experiment is left to believe that he is one of a mere handful of survivors. The gripping two-part special airs back-to-back onWednesday, Dec. 12 at 9 p.m. ETexclusively on SPACE. The hapless ‘survivor’ at the centre of DERREN BROWN: APOCALYPSE is someone who, admittedly, takes life for granted. After waking up disoriented in a hospital bed, he makes his way outside only to discover the aftermath of the meteor strike. Buildings are in ruins, the streets are in disarray, and there are infected zombies everywhere. His sense of responsibility, leadership, compassion, and courage are tested every step of the way as he tries to survive the devastation – and the zombies.
About Derren Brown
Derren Brown is a performer who combines magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection, and showmanship in order to seemingly predict and control human behaviour, and perform mind-bending feats of mentalism. While his performances create the illusion that he has some kind of paranormal powers, Brown is a prominent sceptic and a pronounced atheist.
For the past 10 years, Brown has created TV and stage performances that have stunned audiences, debunked the paranormal, and encouraged many to improve and enhance their own mental abilities. His first show appeared in 2000, DERREN BROWN: MIND CONTROL, and followed with a series of specials. His television work also includes the hugely popular THE EVENTS, HERO AT 30,000 FEET, and the more recent EXPERIMENTS, in which Brown sets out to explore the darker side of what makes us tick as human beings.
In addition to his award-winning performances on stage and television, Brown is also an accomplished artist, exhibiting at the prestigious Rebecca Hossack Gallery in central London, as well as being published in a collected volume of works. Brown is also keen writer, penning four books to date which include Absolute Magic, Pure Effect, Tricks of the Mind, and Confessions of a Conjurer.
