The series debut of STAR TREK: PICARD, which The Globe and Mail dubbed “a down-to-earth, emotionally authentic STAR TREK,” had the highest Live + Same Day audience of any series or mini-series episode ever on Canadian entertainment specialty television, as more than 1.1 million viewers tuned in for the return of the iconic Jean-Luc Picard.
Last night’s premiere also becomes the most-watched specialty series debut of the year. The Thursday night premiere of STATION 19 on CTV becomes the highest-rate premiere of the year with overnights.

In an all-new episode, “Maps and Legends,” airing Thursday, Jan. 30 at 9 p.m. ET, Picard begins investigating the mystery of Dahj as well as what her very existence means to the Federation. Without Starfleet’s support, Picard is left leaning on others for help, including Dr. Agnes Jurati (Alison Pill) and an estranged former colleague, Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd). Meanwhile, hidden enemies are also interested in where Picard’s search for the truth about Dahj will lead. The episode is written by Michael Chabon & Akiva Goldsman, and directed by Hanelle M. Culpepper.
STAR TREK: PICARD features Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard, which he played for seven seasons on STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. The new series follows this iconic character into the next chapter of his life. The series is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Michael Chabon, Patrick Stewart, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers; Aaron Baiers (Secret Hideout) serves as co-executive producer and Kirsten Beyer as supervising producer.
