Space and CraveTV announced today the much-anticipated STAR TREK: SHORT TREKS are set to launch this month beginning Thursday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. ET on Space and streaming on CraveTV the following day, Friday, Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. ET. Featuring new characters and familiar faces from STAR TREK: DISCOVERY and the expanding STAR TREK universe, the four original stand-alone short stories are set to launch during the Space’s nationwide freeview, with subsequent installments rolling out on a monthly basis – airing November 8, December 6, and January 3 on Space. For the first time ever, all four installments will also be available on SnackableTV, Bell Media’s short-form video app, following their launch on Space and CraveTV.

“STAR TREK fans in Canada can continue to count on Space, Crave, and now SnackableTV to deliver these new and exciting stories,” said Mike Cosentino, President, Content and Programming, Bell Media. “The monthly rollout will bridge us into the much anticipated new season of STAR TREK DISCOVERY.”

STAR TREK: SHORT TREKS airs as a companion series to STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, the most-watched series in Canadian entertainment specialty history, which returns to Space and CraveTV in early 2019. Each short in the STAR TREK: SHORT TREKS series runs approximately 10-15 minutes and provides fans the opportunity to examine central themes and characters from STAR TREK: DISCOVERY and the vast STAR TREK universe.

Each story focuses on a key character, including familiar faces from STAR TREK: DISCOVERY – Tilly (Mary Wiseman); Saru (Doug Jones); and Harry Mudd, in a short starring and directed by Rainn Wilson – and the new character Craft, played by Aldis Hodge (UNDERGROUND).
