Produced by Vancouver-based Omnifilm Entertainment, PYROS follows world-renowned Montreal-based pyrotechnic company Groupe Fiatlux-Ampleman (GFA), a squad of globe-trotting, thrill-seeking artists and technicians. In the second season, GFA is catapulted onto the international scene, firing off more than 30 shows in only seven months. Partnering with seasoned pyro masters from around the world, the GFA team quickly learns that when they’re not firing shows on Canadian home turf, anything goes. Whether they’re holding the loudest and most dangerous fireworks in their bare hands, standing in a room full of gunpowder that could explode at any moment, or desperately trying to put out a bush fire ignited by their own pyro, GFA team members are pushed to the limit. With no rules, extreme risks, horrendous travel schedules, demanding bosses, and dangerous locations, the pressure builds until one GFA member is ready to call it quits.
Yet for the elite pyrotechnic crew, blowing things up is simply an everyday part of life. The team includes adrenaline junkie techs Philippe Girard and Sebastien Roy, renegade designers Eric Cardinal and Benoit Berthelet, and a troop of ragtag rookies all wrangled by their boss, the beautiful but tough Maude Furtado.
With tens of thousands of dollars on the line, and hundreds of thousands of people watching, the team has no room for error. Mistakes can be more than costly – they can be downright deadly. PYROS takes viewers behind the scenes to the launch pads, where fierce rivalries and amazing technology fuel every show.

PYROS: “The Big Show”

GFA mount their biggest Canada Day show ever in front of tens of thousands on Parliament Hill, but a rookie mistake puts the show and the renowned pyro company’s reputation in jeopardy. Later, the team helps launch giant, home-made fireworks in a field at the prestigious San Trifone festival in Bari, Italy, where rival families fire the biggest, loudest — and most dangerous – homemade shells GFA has ever handled.
PYROS: “Congo”

Pyro techs Philippe Girard and his brother Mathieu fly to the Congo to mount the biggest Independence Day fireworks show the country has ever seen. Yet the client – anxious to impress Congo’s president – keeps increasing the size of the show to near-unmanagable proportions. Surrounded by armed militia and pushed to their limit, the Girard brothers struggle with an inexperienced crew and brush fires as they race against time to meet almost-impossible expectations.
