Discovery Fires Up Fall with a High-Octane Freeview Anchored by the Return of its #1 Series HIGHWAY THRU HELL, Sept. 10 – Oct. 22

The heatwave won’t stop this fall as Discovery fires up a blistering free preview, beginning Thursday, Sept. 10. Featuring a truckload of series, Discovery’s free preview is anchored by the Season 9 debut of Canadian smash-hit original series HIGHWAY THRU HELL (Sept. 14).

Available until Thursday, Oct. 22, Discovery’s freeview includes a variety of new and returning series, such as: the series premieres of STREET OUTLAWS: NO PREP KINGS (Sept. 17), ALL ON THE LINE (Sept. 22), DODGEBALL: THUNDERDOME (Sept. 23), and MYSTERIES OF THE DEEP (Sept. 30); plus new seasons of DIESEL BROTHERS (Sept. 17), and TEXAS METAL (Sept. 17).

Additionally, viewers can continue to enjoy all-new episodes of BERING SEA GOLD, HOMESTEAD RESCUE: HOME SWEET HOMESTEAD, CHASING MONSTERS, I QUIT, DEADLIEST CATCH, and NAKED AND AFRAID XL.

HIGHWAY THRU HELL (18×60) *Season 9 Premiere*
Mondays

Featuring stories of remarkable strength and fearless dedication, HIGHWAY THRU HELL chronicles the work of the heavy duty operators who often put their own lives at risk to help keep vital transport highways open and safe. This season delivers more twists and turns than ever as Jamie Davis and the other heavy rescue companies are joined by new operators, new equipment, and even a new base.

In the premiere episode, “Dead Man’s Curve”, the first snowstorm of the season paralyzes the Coquihalla Summit, launching Al Quiring and Gord Boyd into battle. Meanwhile, Jamie Davis and a new operator from Ireland tackle a torn-up semi on a dangerous corner.

Before the highly anticipated Season 9 debut, Discovery gives viewers a chance to relive Season 8 with a Labour Day marathon on Monday, Sept. 7 beginning at 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT. Season 8 of HIGHWAY THRU HELL was the #1 program on Discovery this broadcast year-to-date among total viewers, and is among the Top 10 series on Canadian English Entertainment Specialty.

The premiere episode, “The Doubleheader: Game 1”, finds Heavy D, Diesel Dave, and the DieselSellerz crew reinvent a bullpen car for the MLB Network while also working on a Chevrolet Duramax for baseball legend Miguel Cabrera

Metal miracles is the name of the game for the TEXAS METAL team at Ekstensive Metal Works who create some of the biggest, flashiest, and most creative builds anywhere.

In the premiere episode, “Cab Over Custom”, Bill and the team try to outdo themselves with a radical redesign of 1950 Ford F5 COE, starting with a bed unlike any they’ve built. Then, the shop begins its first shot at remaking a ’69 Corvette Stingray.

Set in the iconic fishing town of Gloucester, Massachusetts, ALL ON THE LINE follows two crews as they fight to land tuna and keep their family businesses afloat throughout the winter. As the weather worsens, the stakes get higher for fishermen who are willing to risk everything to bring home a monster payday.

The premiere episode, “Mommy Can’t Help You Out Here,” sees two Gloucester fishing boats band together in their hunt for giant bluefin tuna, battling the rough North Atlantic to land fish that could be worth upwards of $20,000.

DODGEBALL: THUNDERDOME (9×60) *Series Premiere*

Discovery transforms the classic game of dodgeball into an epic sporting competition by combining the classic game with difficult obstacle courses. Hosted by digital star and TV personality David Dobrik, alongside co-hosts Erin Lim and former NFL wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, this all-new series invites everyday people to become heroes as they compete for a $25,000 cash prize.

In the premiere episode, “Welcome to the Thunderdome”, contestants from all walks of life compete for glory and $25,000 cash in an arena unlike any other: dodgeball deity tests his mettle; a fitness model shows she can do more than just look the part; and Aaron Rodgers tries his hand at a brand-new ballgame.
