Follow the family business of identical twin brothers, Mike and Geoff Howe, as they design and build the coolest machines you’ve ever seen: from high-speed military tanks to supercharged subterranean rovers. Inspiring inventions and over-the-top custom fabrications hit the road – or head off road, as the case may be! – when HOWE & HOWE TECH premieres Wed., March 10 at 9 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT on Discovery Channel. With a new project in each episode, the tumultuous twins push the limits of innovation by building a new, ingenious – and often insane – machine. Working with their wives, Tammy and Tracy (who also happen to be sisters), and their shop crew, the Howe brothers put everything they have into their inventions. No idea is too crazy or too half-baked to try, but the success or failure of each invention could make or break their small shop on the verge of huge success.
Highlights from the first episodes of HOWE & HOWE TECH include:
HOWE & HOWE TECH: “Badger Goes Boom”
Wed., March 10 at 9 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT
The twins’ ultra-mini tank – the Badger – secures a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for “Smallest All-Terrain Armoured Vehicle.” The recognition inspires them to beef-up the Badger’s armour so they can market the tank to SWAT teams and bomb squads. As a reward for completing the Badger, Mike and Geoff will treat the shop crew to a survival trip in the woods. After a long, hard weekend of work, H&H finishes the Badger just in time to test its armour. But will their new design stand up against high-calibre guns and deadly amounts of TNT?
HOWE & HOWE TECH: “Subterranean Rover Blues”
Wed., March 17 at 9 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT
The Howe brothers are building their latest invention: the Subterranean Rover-1 (SR-1), a rugged off-road vehicle designed to travel deep into coal mine tunnels. With the delivery date long past due, the shop crew shifts into high gear. Despite the time crunch, Mike and Geoff are also designing a weapon component that may save the lives of U.S. soldiers in combat called the “Dragon Tail” – a spear-like device that can latch on to and drag away suspicious vehicles. When a last-minute design flaw on the SR-1 threatens to cancel the contract, Tammy and Tracy get caught up in the drama and tempers flare.
HOWE & HOWE TECH: “Ripsaw Revolution”
Wed., March 24 at 9 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT
The U.S. Army asks the Howe brothers to modify their most famous vehicles, two high-speed tanks dubbed Ripsaw MS1 and Ripsaw MS2. Ripsaw MS1 is a remote-controlled tank and Ripsaw MS2 is a human-operated version. Now, Mike and Geoff must make Ripsaw MS2 run remotely as well. In the middle of it all, Mike, Geoff and their amazing Ripsaws star in the TV show POPULAR SCIENCE: THE FUTURE OF… The publicity is great, but the rigorous test-drive for the TV cameras ruins the wheels on the MS-2 and the twins have to order new ones. Will the new wheels arrive on time? And will a last-minute technical glitch jeopardize the Howe’s all-important military contracts?
