Get Ready Canada! Disney Channel Arrives on September 1!

Corus Entertainment has lined up Disney Channel’s biggest stars to celebrate its launch in Canada on Tuesday, September 1.K.C. Undercover’s Zendaya, Jessie’s Peyton List and the upcoming sitcom BUNK’D, Girl Meets World’s Sabrina Carpenter and Austin & Ally’s Calum Worthy and Raini Rodriguez will usher in the full Disney experience to Canadian families. Rounding out the week will be the highly anticipated debut of the new animated seriesMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and the best of Disney Channel’s hit original movies. Disney Channel festivities begin with the multi-talented actress and recording star Zendaya taking the helm as guest host on Tuesday, September 1, which also happens to be her 19th birthday. The K.C. Undercover star will celebrate the day with her Canadian fans, introducing series marathons and her favourite movie Ramona & Beezus. Disney Channel will also present the Canadian premiere of the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards, hosted by none other than Zendaya herself.

Each day for the remainder of the week, a different Disney Channel star will host themed segments on the newly launched channel, treating viewers to Canadian series premieres, never-before-seen episodes, special sneak peeks and additional surprises.

The excitement continues with the sneak peek of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy on Saturday, September 5 at 9 p.m. ET, day-and-date with Disney XD in the U.S., in advance of the official premiere of the series on Saturday, September 26 at 9:30 p.m. ET. The new animated series features the popular characters introduced in the blockbuster film of the same name from Marvel Studios.

Disney Channel’s launch in Canada will also see world premieres of new episodes of K.C. Undercover, Jessie, Austin & Ally and Girl Meets World. More details on Disney Channel’s multi-platform schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
