Disney Junior enters a whole new world with the exciting, can’t-miss programming event Pirate and Princess Summer. From Monday, July 1 through Friday, August 30, Disney Junior will air back-to-back episodes of hit series Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Sofia the First each weekday from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. ET respectively, with a premiere episode from one of the two series each Monday throughout the summer.
The magic begins July 1 with a brand new episode of Sofia the First titled “Two to Tangu.” When Sofia and Amber visit the desert kingdom of Tangu, they learn how to fly magic carpets with the help of an unexpected friend – Classic Disney Princess Jasmine (voiced by Linda Larkin,Aladdin and sung by Broadway legend Lea Salonga, Miss Saigon).
As part of the Pirate and Princess Summer, other notable guest voices on Disney Junior this summer include: Jerry O’Connell (Crossing Jordan) as a pirate genie in search of treasure on Jake and the Never Land Pirates, July 8; Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) and Teri Hatcher (Desperate Housewives) recur their roles as adventurous pirate Red Jessica and sneaky Beatrice Le Beak on Jake and the Never Land Pirates, July 22; Academy Award-nominee Viola Davis (The Help) guests stars as Sofia’s energetic Buttercup troop leader onSofia the First, August 12; and Megan Mullally (Will & Grace) guest stars as Miss Nettle, a new fairy teacher who Sofia quickly learns is up to no good, on Sofia the First, August 26.
