Canada Gets Chatty with Emmy® Award-Winner Kathy Griffin in New Talk Show KATHY, Premiering Exclusively on E!, June 15

Fiercely outspoken and unstoppable comedian Kathy Griffin transcends the so-called “D-LIST” with the debut of her new weekly talk show KATHY, premiering exclusively on E!, Friday, June 15 at 9 p.m. ET (visit eonline.ca for local listings). KATHY joins E!’s irreverent, fun Friday night lineup which includes new episodes of FASHION POLICE at 10 p.m. ET. The one-hour weekly pop culture talk show hosted by the two-time Emmy® Award-winner, The New York Times bestselling author and Grammy® nominee, showcases Griffin’s unique take on celebrities, co-workers, friends, politicians and even her own boxed wine swilling mother, Maggie. Kathy’s #1 goal? To deflate the egos of everyone who is anyone and those who think they’re someone.

“Kathy Griffin is a true original who has conquered it all, television, stand-up, Broadway and writing,” said Catherine MacLeod, Vice-President, Specialty Channels, Bell Media. “We’re excited to bring her no-holds-barred talk show exclusively to Canadians on E!.”

Griffin has starred in an impressive 13 original comedy specials since 2005 and won two Emmy® Awards for her ground-breaking reality series KATHY GRIFFIN: MY LIFE ON THE D LIST. Her stand up specials KATHY GRIFFIN: STRAIGHT TO HELL and KATHY GRIFFIN: SHE’LL CUT A BITCH were both nominated for an Emmy® in the category Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special. Four of her comedy albums have been nominated for Grammy® Awards and she received rave reviews on Broadway for her one woman show, Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony. Kathy is very involved with the gay and lesbian community and was presented with the prestigious Vanguard Award at the 2009 GLAAD Media Awards. She also received the Trevor Project’s Lifetime Achievement Award and Ally for Equality Award from the Human Rights Campaign for her tremendous work with the GLBTQ community.
