Exclusive Award Season Coverage Catapults E! to New Ratings Records in January

E! reigns with red carpet coverage this season, breaking previous ratings records as January 2013 became the network’s most-watched month ever. With E!’s signature style providing live coverage of red carpet arrivals, pre-show details, post-show recaps, and all of the fashion in between, E! reached more than 7.1 million viewers in January. E! also set records with the key demos A25-54 and A18-49, both of which were up 5% compared to the previous record month. E!’s award season coverage to date has been a big hit with viewers as LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET: THE 2013 GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS won its timeslot on Jan. 13 across all non-sports specialty channels among A25-54, A18-49, and all key female demos, averaging 298,300 total viewers. LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET: THE 2013 GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS reached 980,000 Canadians, while more than 1.2 million unique viewers watched some or all of E!’s four-hour, GOLDEN GLOBES® coverage. Year-over-year, audiences for E!’s LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET: THE 2013 GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS were up 35% among total viewers, 52% among A18-49, and 49% among A25-54, making it E!’s #1 most-watched telecast of the 2012/2013 broadcast year, and the #5 most-watched telecast of all-time on E!. As well, LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET: THE 2013 GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS ranked as the most-watched non-sports specialty program of the day among female viewers aged 18-49 and 25-54.

Additionally, LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET: THE 2013 SAG AWARDS on Jan. 27 was up 24% compared to last year, garnering 175,600 total viewers from 6 – 8 p.m. Then, last weekend’s LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET: THE 2013 GRAMMY AWARDS became E!’s #5 most-watched broadcast of the 2012/2013 broadcast year among total viewers, making E! the most-watched non-sports Canadian specialty channel in the 6 – 8 p.m. ET timeslot among F18-34 viewers.

Also in January, KOURTNEY & KIM TAKE MIAMI broke records when the Jan. 27 episode became the most-watched episode in the series history with all the key demos. Garnering 197,600 total viewers, E! ranked #1 in the 9 – 10 p.m. ET timeslot across all specialty networks among its key F18-34 demo, and ranked #1 non-sports among A18-34. Overall, the episode attracted 408,000 unique viewers.

Red carpet season continues next weekend with COUNTDOWN TO THE RED CARPET: THE 2013 ACADEMY AWARDS and LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET: THE 2013 ACADEMY AWARDS on Sunday, Feb. 24 beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET, exclusively on E!.
