Jeanne Beker Chronicles the Legendary Event of Glitter and Glam in Original Special FASHION CARES 25: A NIGHT OF STYLE AND STARS, Premiering on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1 on FashionTelevisionChannel and E!

It’s fierce, fabulous, and philanthropic! FashionTelevisionChannel host and Fashion Cares honorary board member Jeanne Beker hosts the brand-new Original Special FASHION CARES 25: A NIGHT OF STYLE AND STARS, premiering on World AIDS Day, Saturday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. ET on FashionTelevisionChannel and E!. In this half-hour special, Jeanne chronicles the evolution of this iconic fundraising event, from its inception in 1987 to the 25th and final show this past September. The special also features exclusive performances and interviews with stars such as Sir Elton John, Toronto’s David Furnish, Canadian bombshell Pamela Anderson, the incomparable RuPaul, Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista, Canadian design duo Dean and Dan Caten of DSQUARED2, Scissor Sisters, Janelle Monae, plus a who’s-who of the fashion and entertainment industry. “The final edition of FASHION CARES was a magical night filled with wonderful old memories and new inspiration. It was the culmination of two-and-a-half decades of dreaming and believing, fighting and flying – an era filled with both fear and courage, unbridled creativity and untold generosity in a community that had been ravaged by the monster that is AIDS,” said Jeanne Beker. “This special pays tribute to a community with heart, vision, and tenacity, whose penchant for fantasy is rivaled only by its desire to make the world a better, more beautiful place.”

“FASHION CARES 25: A NIGHT OF STYLE AND STARS celebrates the ingenuity, brilliance and history of FASHION CARES. This year’s gala was particularly monumental, not only because it was the final one, but we also had the privilege of speaking exclusively with Sir Elton John and FASHION CARES co-chair David Furnish,” said Sheila Sullivan, Executive Producer, Specials, Bell Media. “After 25 years of this fantastic event, we’re excited to share some of the amazing footage and interviews with viewers across Canada.”

FASHION CARES 25: A NIGHT OF STYLE AND STARS includes a 25-year retrospective of the event’s show-stopping and memorable moments along with interviews with stars and designers, A-list performances, and exclusive backstage access into the social event of the season. Benefitting the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) and Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF), this year’s Fashion Cares event featured performances by Sir Elton John, Scissor Sisters, Janelle Monáe, Sky Ferreira, and Canadian artists Shawn Desman, Jully Black, and Kreesha Turner.
