Vancouver-based Paperny Entertainment has been given the greenlight by Food Network Canada for season two of “World’s Weirdest Restaurants” (14×30) and season four of “Eat St.” (26×30). Both series return with their popular hosts, Bob Blumer for “World’s Weirdest Restaurants” and James Cunningham on “Eat St.” Production on both begins summer with an anticipated network launch in 2013.
“Paperny Entertainment is proud to have created two programs that have whetted their audiences’ appetite for audacious, out-there dining,” says David Paperny, President, Paperny Entertainment. “Food Network Canada is the perfect partner for these programs and we are looking forward to dishing up two more tasty seasons with them.”
In season two of “World’s Weirdest Restaurants” gourmet adventurer Bob Blumer (“Glutton for Punishment”; “Surreal Gourmet”) continues his quest to discover the world’s most outrageous, ostentatious and just plain wacky dining establishments. His curiosity knows no limits and he will travel the world to share his most extreme and entertaining finds.
Season four of “Eat St.” will shoot across North America in a quest to profile the most innovative street food around. Highlights from previous seasons include everything from a meatball lollipop and a habanero jelly and pork shoulder doughnut to deep fried cupcakes and cake-filled milkshakes.
In addition, “Eat St.” viewers can get even more involved in the action with the updated Eat St. App, which uses GPS to locate nearby food trucks. The app has been downloaded over 300,000 times and is available on iTunes. It can also be accessed at www.EatStApp.com.
