HGTV Canada Sprouts A Stellar Spring Schedule Beginning The Week of April 5th

Beginning the week of April 5 HGTV Canada is swinging into spring with a stellar new schedule of entertaining, inspiring and informative home-related series. Heavy-hitters, Mike Holmes and Scott McGillivray share the small screen together in the competitive series All-American Handyman; HGTV introduces expert builder and host, Paul Lafrance, who will have audiences dazzled by decks in Decked Out; and Canada’s favourite financial expert Gail Vaz-Oxlade makes her debut on HGTV in the new Til Debt Do Us Part: Home Edition. The spring lineup also features new seasons of the long-standing smash-hit series House Hunters and House Hunters International. It’s a can’t miss season on HGTV.

“This spring HGTV is adding some fresh flavour to its lineup, focusing on heavy-hitting personalities and brand new faces,” said Barb Williams, Senior Vice President Content, Shaw Media. “The pairing of two of the channel’s powerhouse hosts together for the first time and introduction of two new personalities livens up an already strong schedule.”

For the first time ever, Canadian powerhouse construction heroes Mike Holmes (Holmes Inspection) and Scott McGillivray (Income Property) team up and head south of the border to find America’s best handyman (or handywoman) in All American Handyman, premiering Tuesday April 5 at 10pm ET/PT. The pressure is on as they put 20 participants through a series of challenges to test their construction prowess. The contestants that can’t take the heat will be cut loose.

The brand new Canadian series Decked Out, premiering Thursday April 7 at 10pm ET/PT, is unlike any other, taking backyards from boring to brilliant by shining the spotlight on decks. With over 13 years of construction experience under his belt, expert builder and new host Paul Lafrance, along with his rockin’ crew, battle the elements to transform drab backyards into awesome multi-purpose outdoor relaxation dens with stunning landscaping to match. When Paul and his team are done with the lackluster backyards, homeowners will not want to go inside.

Highly respected and sought after financial expert Gail Vaz-Oxlade is coming to HGTV. Home ownership is the biggest financial commitment one can make but that doesn’t mean that it’s for everyone. In the new series Til Debt Do Us Part: Home Edition, premiering Tuesday, April 5 at 9pm ET/PT, Gail helps couples and families who are struggling financially learn to manage their money and keep a roof over their heads.

It’s a hot season on HGTV and the already enticing schedule also includes new seasons of hit series including: Income Property, Property Virgins, Disaster DIY, along with back-to-back episodes of international hits House Hunters, House Hunters International and more.
