Using their families, fake identification and violence to avoid capture, I (ALMOST) GOT AWAY WITH IT features criminals – from bank robbers, murderers and drug dealers – so ruthless and scheming that they fleetingly managed to avoid being locked up. Using all means necessary to capture these renegade felons, law enforcement officers use both determination and ingenuity to bring each case to justice.

After an argument one morning, Michael McGuffey shoots his wife point blank in the head. With support from his mother, McGuffey flees to Mexico – and evades the cops by simply taking the bus! With the financial support of his mother and a fake ID, he starts a new life. While in Mexico McGuffey remarries and fathers a child. The FBI however is finally able to trace him by his bank records – and with the help of Mexican police, ambush him and bring him into custody, putting an end to his new life in Mexico.
I (ALMOST) GOT AWAY WITH IT – “Got Dumped”

After gunning down a girlfriend in a public parking lot, Michael Alfonso goes on the run to Mexico. He struggles, living in poverty and constantly on the run from the Feds. Now nine years after the first murder, and three years since his latest, Alfonso has a new girlfriend and an opportunity to strike again. It is Alfonso’s criminal lifestyle that gets him caught, ending his 13-year murderous rampage.
I (ALMOST) GOT AWAY WITH IT – “Got To Sing Karaoke”

After 40 years of marriage, Joe Crouch wakes up one morning and – unable to bring himself to tell his wife of their financial ruin – shoots her while she sleeps. After a phone call confession, he flees to Florida and with his new identity of a retired widower, he is able to evade the Feds for months. Crouch embraces his life as a fugitive and begins to fund his hobbies of golf and karaoke by robbing banks. Ultimately, it is his love of karaoke that gets him caught and puts an end to his life on the run.
