Lifetime announced its fall programming today. Herre are the highlights:
BRAND NEW SERIES
Extreme Moms
Wednesdays at 8pm ET/5pm PT beginning August 28
From “Type A Mom” to “Shopaholic Mom,” Extreme Moms showcases outrageous mom behaviour caught on tape. After a week of observation under the guise of being filmed for a new series about different parenting styles, the kids will show their moms what has been captured and in this “Ah Ha” moment, kids and moms are set on a whole new path.
Catering Wars
Wednesdays at 9pm ET/6pm PT beginning August 28
Catering Wars introduces audiences to an eccentric, larger-than-life cast of caterers who strategically bid for jobs when an event is posted online. With the lowest bid winning the gig, each episode follows two teams as they deal with over-the-top clients, outrageous requests, tight budgets and all the drama that ensues. The caterer that stays within the budget and turns a profit earns bragging rights as the “King of Catering” in Atlanta. Let the bidding begin!
Witches of East End
Sundays at 10pm ET/7pm PT beginning October 6
Based on Melissa de la Cruz’s best-selling novel, Witches of East End follows Joanna Beauchamp (Julia Ormond) and her two adult daughters Freya (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) and Ingrid (Rachel Boston) whom, unbeknownst to them, are their family’s next generation of witches. Leading ordinary modern day lives in Long Island’s secluded seaside town of East Haven, when Freya becomes engaged to a wealthy newcomer, a series of events forces Joanna to admit to her daughters they are powerful and immortal witches. Mädchen Amick stars as Joanna’s mischievous witch sister Wendy.

Drop Dead Diva
Two-hour season premiere Sunday, September 1 at 9pm ET/6pm PT
Lifetime’s critically-acclaimed series Drop Dead Diva follows a shallow wannabe model that suddenly dies in an accident only to find her soul resurfacing in the body of a plus-sized, recently deceased attorney named Jane (Brooke Elliott). The season premiere picks up from last season’s cliff hanger finale with Jane frantically searching for her missing fiancé Owen (Lex Medlin), who disappeared after witnessing her kiss Grayson (Jackson Hurst) moments before their wedding.
Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition
Tuesdays at 10pm ET/7pm PT beginning September 3
Headlined by Abby Lee Miller from Dance Moms, this competition series features 11 talented young dancers competing for a $100,000 cash prize and a scholarship to the Young Dancers Program at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. Joining Miller at the judges table this season are celebrity choreographer Richard “Richy” Jackson (Lady Gaga’s Marry the Night) and Broadway star Rachelle Rak (Fosse, Cats and Catch Me If You Can). With new contestants, new moms and new unexpected twists, the competition heats up and tensions run high among a group of intensely competitive parents who hope that their child has what it takes to be crowned winner of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition.
