And the Nominees Are…. MuchMusic Announces the 2013 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS Nominees

Earlier today audience members joined the NEW.MUSIC.LIVE. team to announce that Vancouver’s own pop-rockers Marianas Trench lead the pack with an incredible six nominations for the 2013 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS. Toronto’s homegrown hero Drake nabbed five nods, while East Coast rapper Classified scored four, and previously announced performer, Demi Lovato, is nominated in two categories this year. First-time nominees include co-host PSYMacklemore & Ryan LewisPhillip Phillips, and Canadians The WeekndSerena Ryder, and 2012 Coke Coversaward winner Tyler Shaw.The nominees join the biggest street party on the planet, the 2013 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS, airing live on MuchMusic Sunday, June 16 at 9 p.m. ET. The 2013 MMVAs are also simulcast live in the U.S. onFuse, the national music television network of The Madison Square Garden Company. The MMVAs RED CARPET SPECIAL kicks off the night at 8 p.m. ET.

Also announced today were this year’s Wildcard nominee winners for the Your Fave categories. They are:

Your Fave Video of the Year – Billy Talent, “Surprise Surprise”
Your Fave International Artist or Group – P!NK
Your Fave Artist or Group – Marianas Trench

Viewers can get involved behind the scenes by helping pick the winner in each Your Fave category. Fans can vote by “liking” their faves at mmva.muchmusic.com.
