Red Carpet Details Announced for the 2010 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS Sunday, September 12 at 9 p.m. ET on MuchMusic

Get ready for a night of red carpet hotness, celebrity collisions and bad-ass performances with an award show of epic proportions as the 2010 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS take over Sunday night.

While MTV’s Aliya-Jasmine Sovani is on the ground in LA hitting the red carpet, Andrew Bravener, MuchMusic’s Digital Correspondent for the VMAs, brings viewers all the behind the scenes action. Back at home, MuchMusic’s Sarah Taylor and MTV’s Johnny Hockin host interstitials throughout the show. Hosted by popular comedienne Chelsea Handler, the 2010 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS air live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre on Sunday, September 12 at 9 p.m. ET, exclusively on MuchMusic.

But before the musical mania gets underway, fans get red carpet ready with the 2010 VMA PRE-SHOW at 8 p.m. ET, which also includes the first-ever televised solo performance from Nicki Minaj. Hitting this year’s red carpet is MTV NEWS and 1 GIRL 5 GAYS host Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, giving fans the lowdown on the most scandalous outfits and shocking pre-show antics on MTV NEWS airing on Monday, September 13 at 6:26 p.m. ET.

A full list of performers and presenters is included below.

The all-access action doesn’t stop there. Fans get a backstage pass as the official Digital Correspondent for the VMAs, YouTube aficionado Andrew Bravener, gives viewers an inside peek at the always unpredictable VMAs. Virgin Mobile also made one lucky fan Andrew’s +1 at the VMAs, selecting Winnipeg’s Freya Martin from thousands of Twitter submissions, sending her to L.A. for the weekend. MuchMusic VJ Sarah Taylor and MTV’s Johnny Hockin hold it down at the MuchMusic studios, hosting interstitials and relaying real-time updates from Andrew and Freya via Blackberry® Messenger to fans watching at home.
