Summer Breakout Hit PRETTY LITTLE LIARS #1 Series on MuchMusic

MuchMusic delivers the summer’s first breakout hit with PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. The network’s seductive new drama proves to be the biggest breakout hit in five years, garnering nearly one million unique viewers each week1. Based on the first four episodes, the series holds the number one position for P2+, Teens 12-17, P12-34, and A18-49 on MuchMusic over the past five years2. The series strong performance has led to 12 additional episodes being ordered, bringing the show’s first season to a total of 22 episodes.

Since its second episode, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS has placed MuchMusic in the number one position Tuesdays from 8–9 p.m. ET against all Canadian and US specialty networks in the key demographic of P12-343. On muchmusic.com the series also proves popular, capturing nearly 725,000 video views in the month of June4.

New Episode – Reality Bites Me
Tuesday, July 6 at 8 p.m. ET on MuchMusic
The girls must deal with the consequences when secrets start to get out in an all-new episode airing tonight. Trying to ignore “A” backfired for the girls, and now they must pay the penalty. Whether it’s a family in crisis, praise for an undeserved honour, or wearing totally unfashionable scrubs while working off a debt – the girls tackle it all head first. On top of that, boys are on everyone’s mind. A new guy comes to town and pushes the status quo, a secret love is tested, a new romance blooms, and an old romance floats in the grey zone. And all the while, “A’s” lipstick message still haunts them.

The town of Rosewood is perfectly quiet and pristine…but holds many secrets. Some of the ugliest ones belong to the prettiest girls in town – Aria (Lucy Hale, PRIVILEDGED) Spencer (Troian Bellisario, JAG) Hanna (Ashley Benson, EASTWICK), and Emily (Canadian Shay Mitchell). These four estranged friends are about to see their darkest secrets unravel. One year ago, Alison, the Queen Bee of their group, disappeared and the girls swore they’d never tell anyone what really happened that night. They thought their secrets would bond them together, but instead it threatens to tear them apart. As the mystery surrounding Alison’s disappearance resurfaces, the girls begin getting threatening messages from “A,” saying things only Alison would know. Whoever it is, knows all the girls’ secrets, and is watching their every move.
