Crave Highlights for December 2023

MUST-WATCH TITLES FOR DECEMBER

DECEMBER 1 – THE O.C. *The Complete Series*

  • Welcome to “The O.C.,” where the lives of a group of friends and families have forever been changed by the arrival of an outsider to their affluent oceanside community of Newport Beach in Orange County, California. To coincide with the show’s 20th anniversary, stream all seasons and episodes of THE O.C. exclusively in Canada on Crave, beginning Friday, Dec. 1.

DECEMBER 22 – NESTING *Crave Original Series Premiere*

  • Anna and Rosa – loosely inspired by the series stars and creators Anna Hardwick and Rosa Laborde – are unlikely best friends for whom the romantic comedy dream hasn’t panned out. They have no house, no partner, and no baby. On the bright side, they have each other! Episode by episode, they clumsily, and comically, set out on a hunt for a baby daddy to fertilize their drying-up eggs, all while searching for affordable housing to nest in, so they can co-parent in their version of family. Slowly, and surprisingly, their platonic friendship begins to feel romantic in this provocative, funny, and unflinching web series about fertility, friendship, the housing crisis, and a mysterious little thing called love. All eight episodes drop on Friday, Dec. 22.

DECEMBER 25 – LETTERKENNY *Crave Original Series, Final Season Premiere*

  • In the twelfth and final season of Crave Original series, LETTERKENNY, the small town contends with a comedy night at Modean’s, a country music hit, the Degens’ bad influence, a new nightclub, and an encore at the Ag Hall. And that’s just for starters. All six episodes are available to stream on Christmas Day.

DECEMBER 20 – BÖRJE – THE JOURNEY OF A LEGEND *Limited Series Premiere*

  • From Viaplay, BÖRJE – THE JOURNEY OF A LEGEND is the true story of Börje Salming’s incredible journey from an outcast struggling to find his place in a society that doesn’t believe in him, to becoming a beloved and world-famous professional hockey player, one of the first European players in the National Hockey League. The six-part limited drama series traces Salming’s journey as a young boy destined to work in the mines of Kiruna, a small town located in Northern Sweden, to his legendary presence as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1970s. Starring Valter Skarsgärd as Salming, along with Hedda Stiernstedt, Jason Priestley, A.C. Petersen, Jack Langedijk, Oscar Skagerberg, Kelly Van der Burg, and Jon McClaren. BÖRJE – THE JOURNEY OF A LEGEND debuts on Wednesday, Dec. 20 with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode on subsequent Wednesdays.

HIGHLIGHTS

DECEMBER 1 – JOY RIDE *Movie Premiere*

  • From the producers of Neighbors and the co-screenwriter of Crazy Rich Asians, JOY RIDE stars Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Oscar® nominee Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu. The hilarious and unapologetically explicit story of identity and self-discovery centres on four unlikely friends who embark on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure. When Audrey’s (Park) business trip to Asia goes sideways, she enlists the aid of: Lolo (Cola), her irreverent, childhood best friend who also happens to be a hot mess; Kat (Hsu), her college friend turned Chinese soap star; and Deadeye (Wu), Lolo’s eccentric cousin. Their no-holds-barred, epic experience becomes a journey of bonding, friendship, belonging, and wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are. JOY RIDE streams Friday, Dec. 1 on STARZ.

DECEMBER 1 – STARZ’s POWER BOOK III: RAISING KANAN *Season 3 Premiere*

  • With emotions high and the stakes even higher, Season 3 returns to Southside Jamaica, Queens with the Thomas family in turmoil and reeling from the mob’s coordinated attack. Kanan finds himself grappling with the very notions of right and wrong. Good and evil. Fidelity and disloyalty. And he’s not alone. Every member of the Thomas family must confront an existential crisis that challenges their very identity. Whether it’s Marvin, who’s still trying to redeem himself; Raq, who’s finally coming clean; Lou, who’s wrestling with his own evil; or Jukebox, who’s simply trying to break free from her family’s pathology, they are all attempting to redefine and reinvent themselves. MeKai Curtis, Patina Miller, and Tony Danza return, while Wendell Pierce and Erika Woods join the cast for Season 3. Subsequent new episodes of POWER BOOK III: RAISING KANAN drop Fridays on STARZ.

DECEMBER 8 & 22 – SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE and SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE *Movie Premieres*

  • Two films from the Oscar-winning Spider-Man saga drop on Crave in December. The 2018 film SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE premieres on Friday, Dec. 8, and introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask. In the hit 2023 follow-up, SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE, which drops on Friday, Dec. 22, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse’s very existence.

DECEMBER 8 – VENOM *Movie Premiere*

  • From the Sony Pictures universe of Marvel characters, the 2018 superhero action film VENOM debuts on Crave on Friday, Dec. 8. Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers, transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?

DECEMBER 29 – GRAN TURISMO *Movie Premiere*

  • GRAN TURISMO is based on the unbelievable true story of a team of unlikely underdogs – a struggling working-class gamer (Archie Madekwe), a failed former racecar driver (David Harbour), and an idealistic motorsport executive (Orlando Bloom). Together, they risk it all to take on the most elite sport in the world.
