Crave Highlights for May 2024

MUST-WATCH TITLES FOR MAY


MAY 2 – Max Original Series HACKS *Season 3 Premiere*

  • The Emmy®-winning comedy series HACKS returns for its highly-anticipated third season, Thursday, May 2. In the new season, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) is riding high off the success of her standup special while Ava (Hannah Einbinder) pursues new opportunities back in Los Angeles. In addition to Smart and Einbinder, HACKS stars Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Kaitlin Olson, Christopher McDonald, Mark Indelicato, Rose Abdoo, and Lorenza Izzo. Previously announced guest stars include Helen Hunt, Christina Hendricks, Christopher Lloyd, Dan Bucatinsky, George Wallace, and Tony Goldwyn. The nine-episode season debuts with two episodes, followed by two new episodes on subsequent Thursdays.


MAY 9 – Max Original Series PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: SUMMER SCHOOL *Premiere*

  • Following the harrowing events of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN, the Pretty Little Liars face a fate worse than death: summer school. However, Millwood High isn’t the only thing getting in the way of their fun summer jobs and new, dreamy love interests. A new villain, who may or may not have a connection to A, has come to town and is going to put them all to the test. Max’s PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: SUMMER SCHOOL debuts with two episodes Thursday, May 9, followed by one new episode on subsequent Thursdays.


MAY 10 – SHOWTIME’s THE CHI *Season 6B Premiere*

  • SHOWTIME’s hit drama series THE CHI returns for the second half of its sixth season, beginning Friday, May 10. Created and executive produced by Emmy-winner Lena Waithe, under her Hillman Grad banner, and executive produced by Academy Award® and Emmy winner Common, THE CHI is a timely coming-of-age story centred around a group of residents on the South Side of Chicago who become linked by coincidence, but bonded by the need for connection and redemption. New episodes drop on subsequent Fridays.


MAY 15 – SONS OF ANARCHY *The Complete Series*

  • FX Original Series SONS OF ANARCHY is an adrenalized drama about a notorious outlaw motorcycle club intent on protecting their sheltered small town against encroaching drug dealers, corporate developers, and overzealous law officers. The club is equally determined to protect their ruthless and illegally thriving arms business. Starring Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal, and Ron Perlman. Seasons 1-7 drop Wednesday, May 15.


MAY 24 – Crave Original Series SHORESY *Season 3 Premiere*

  • Smash-hit Crave original series SHORESY returns for a six-episode third season on Friday, May 24. The first two episodes are available on May 24, with one new episode dropping on subsequent Fridays. Created by and starring Jared Keeso, directed by Jacob Tierney, and produced by New Metric Media in association with Play Fun Games, SHORESY sees the foul-mouthed, chirp-serving, mother-loving, fan favourite character, Shoresy (Keeso), and the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs of the Northern Ontario Senior Hockey Organization (The NOSHO), continue their quest to never lose again. In Season 3, Shoresy and the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs compete in the National Senior Tournament, facing off against teams from across Canada, like the Charlottetown Reds, Vaughan Canadesi, and SOO Hunt.

Crave’s Asian Heritage Month Collection

  • In celebration of Asian Heritage Month, Crave highlights Asian voices and stories through its Asian Heritage Month Collection, featuring a wide variety of feature films and series including: critically acclaimed movies Oldboy (2003), Double Happiness, Minari, and Therapy Dogs; Max Original Series WARRIOR; HBO Asia series FOLKLORE, FOODLORE, ADVENTURE OF THE RING, and MISS SHERLOCK; and more.


MAY 1 – STOP MAKING SENSE *Documentary Premiere*

  • Newly restored in 4K to coincide with its 40th anniversary, the 1984 film STOP MAKING SENSE was directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Jonathan Demme and stars Talking Heads band members David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison along with Bernie Worrell, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Lynn Mabry, and Edna Holt. The live performance was shot over the course of three nights at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre in December of 1983, and features some of the Talking Heads’ most memorable songs.


MAY 10 – EXPEND4BLES *Movie Premiere*

  • A new generation of stars join the world’s top action stars for an adrenaline-fueled adventure in EXPEND4BLES. Reuniting as the team of elite mercenaries, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Sylvester Stallone are joined for the first time by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andy Garcia. Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table.


MAY 16 – Crave Original Series BELLEFLEUR *Series Premiere*

  • The new Crave Original Series BELLEFLEUR is a half-hour, 10-episode dramedy, directed by Jeanne Leblanc, that addresses healthy friendship, feminism, fatherhood, gender fluidity, and mourning with humour and emotion. Deprived of his role as stepfather following a breakup, Nicolas (Guillaume Laurin) takes refuge in his native town and finds his brother Maxime (Maxime De Cotret) and his high school friends Yann (Marc-André Grondin), Minh (Jean Bui), and Alex (Guillaume Cyr), to navigate this new life where fatherhood is left hanging. The series is available to Crave audiences in French with English subtitles, and premieres with two episodes on Thursday, May 16. It follows a weekly release schedule with two new episodes dropping every Thursday.


MAY 17 – SAW X *Movie Premiere*

  • John Kramer is back. In the most chilling installment of the SAW franchise to date, SAW X explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game. Set between the events of SAW I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps.


MAY 17 THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES *Movie Premiere*

  • THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES follows a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake. The film premieres Friday, May 17 on STARZ.


MAY 24 RACE FOR GLORY: AUDI VS. LANCIA *Movie Premiere*

  • This action-packed sports drama inspired by true events, a true David vs. Goliath story spotlighting the intense rivalry between German team Audi and Italian team Lancia at the 1983 Rally World Championship. Against all odds, Lancia battles to regain its former glory with an unbeatable combination of bold innovation and extraordinary courage. The film premieres Friday, May 24 on STARZ.


MAY 31 – THEATER CAMP *Movie Premiere*

  • Tony Award®-winner Ben Platt and Molly Gordon star in the comedy THEATER CAMP as Amos and Rebecca-Diane, lifelong best friends and drama instructors at a rundown camp in upstate New York. When clueless tech-bro Troy (Jimmy Tatro) arrives to run the property (into the ground), Amos, Rebecca-Diane, and production manager Glenn (Noah Galvin) band together with the staff and students, staging a masterpiece to keep their beloved summer camp afloat.
