TIFF + BELL MEDIA’S CRAVE ANNOUNCE ADDITIONAL VIRTUAL CHATS AND SCREENINGS FOR STAY-AT-HOME CINEMA EXPERIENCE MAY 12, MAY 14, MAY 16, and MAY 19

TIFF and Bell Media’s Crave continue their commitment to bringing Canadians together to experience film from the comfort of their own homes. The next instalments of Stay-at-Home Cinema will take place Tuesday, May 12 (Before Sunset), Thursday, May 14 (Slumdog Millionaire), Saturday, May 16 (Crazy Rich Asians), and Tuesday, May 19 (A League of Their Own).

Stay-at-Home Cinema is appointment viewing at its best. It is an event to look forward to each week, and a way to connect film lovers to each other while they enjoy classic films. Additional movie titles — all available on Crave — along with special guests are announced each week on TIFF and Crave’s respective social media channels.

On Tuesday, May 12, 7pm EDT, join TIFF Artistic Director and Co-Head Cameron Bailey via livestream at tiff.net as he chats with Julie Delpy, co-star and co-writer of the 2004 hit Before Sunset — the sequel to Before Sunrise and a nominee for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2005 Academy Awards. At 7:30pm EDT, audiences are invited to watch the Before Sunset on Crave.

To mark Asian Heritage Month, the film on offer for Thursday, May 14 is Slumdog Millionaire, the recipient of TIFF 2008’s People’s Choice Award and an eight-time Academy Award winner. Bailey will discuss the film with director Danny Boyle and pay special tribute to the illustrious career of late actor Irrfan Khan, who co-starred in the film. The livestream begins at 7pm EDT at tiff.net. At 7:30pm EDT, audiences are invited to watch Slumdog Millionaire on Crave.

On Saturday, May 16, in continued celebration of Asian Heritage Month, Stay-at-Home Cinema presents the delightful romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians. Bailey’s special guest for the Q&A on tiff.net at 7pm EDT is director Jon M. Chu. Audiences can watch Crazy Rich Asians at 7:30pm EDT, only on Crave.

On Tuesday, May 19, audiences can enjoy the much-loved comedy A League of Their Own. Bailey’s special guest will be Academy Award–winning actor Geena Davis, who will discuss her career, her advocacy work for women in the industry, and the longevity of A League of Their Own. At 7:30pm EDT, audiences are invited to watch the film on Crave.

As was previously announced, Crave is providing one month free for any new, direct-to-consumer subscribers with access to the internet, expanding the trial period during which Canadians can sample the service from seven to 30 days. The one-time-only offer is for first-time, direct-to-consumer subscribers, and can be accessed now on the Crave app or Crave.ca.
