With Must-See Movies and Series, the Big Moments Live on Crave this Summer

As HBO’s GAME OF THRONES comes off its record-breaking final season as the most-watched season of a show in Entertainment Specialty and Pay TV history, even more binge-worthy series, weekly watercooler hits, and blockbuster movies are on the way for Crave audiences. Whether it’s at the cottage, settled on a trusty couch, or on a summer road trip, some of the biggest moments in entertainment live on Crave this summer thanks to a stacked lineup of surefire hits from HBO, SHOWTIME, STARZ, major movie studios, and more.

Easily one of summer’s most eagerly-anticipated series, Hulu’s eight-episode VERONICA MARS revival drops Friday, July 26, only on Crave, joining the series’ previous three seasons (2004 to 2007) which launch Friday, June 28. In the revival series, starring Kristen Bell, spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune and Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer.

Crave subscribers can also look forward to a slew of Hollywood-hit movie premieres all season long including: Oscar® winners A STAR IS BORN (June 8), BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (July 5), SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDERVERSE (July 29), and THE FAVOURITE (August); box-office favourites HALLOWEEN (June 15), FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD (July 13), and AQUAMAN (August); and hidden-gem, critical-darlings such as THE HATE U GIVE (June 21), WIDOWS (July 27), CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME? (August), and BOY ERASED (August).

Beginning Sunday, June 9, the highly anticipated third season of Hulu’s Emmy Award®-winning THE HANDMAID’S TALE begins streaming exclusively at 9 p.m. ET with two back-to-back episodes. The new season is driven by June’s (Elisabeth Moss) resistance to the regime of Gilead, in which she finds herself once again after opting not to flee to Canada with her baby at the end of Season 2.

Crave’s exclusive HBO Collection gets even bigger with the subversive, darkly comedic BIG LITTLE LIES which returns Sunday, June 9 (9 p.m. ET) and explores the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage, and the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Meryl Streep joins the cast for Season 2 alongside the original “Monterey Five” – Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, and Zoë Kravitz. The new drama series EUPHORIA, co-executive produced by Drake, joins Crave’s exclusive HBO lineup on Sunday, June 16 (10 p.m. ET). Starring Zendaya, the series follows a group of high school students as they navigate drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love, and friendship.

Additionally, HBO’s hilarious new comedy series THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES, starring Danny McBride and John Goodman, debuts only on Crave in August and tells the story of a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work. Also in August, HBO’s acclaimed drama series SUCCESSION returns for a second season. Starring Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Snook, Season 2 follows the Roy family as they struggle to retain control of their empire.

The new STARZ Original series THE ROOK, produced by Lionsgate and Liberty Global, debuts Sunday, June 30 (episodes are available for streaming Sundays at midnight ET and air at 8 p.m. ET) and will be available on the STARZ linear channel, on demand, and through the Crave app with the STARZ add-on. Starring Emma Greenwell, Joely Richardson, and Olivia Munn, THE ROOK is a supernatural spy thriller which tells the story of Myfanwy Thomas, who one day discovers she is a high ranking official in the Checquy, Britain’s last truly secret service for people with paranormal abilities.

Then, SHOWTIME’s summer slate sizzles with the new drama CITY ON A HILL, debuting Sunday, June 16 (9 p.m. ET) only on Crave. Starring Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge and executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, the series is set in early 1990s Boston, rife with violent criminals emboldened by local law enforcement agencies in which corruption and racism was the norm.

On Sunday, June 30 (10 p.m. ET), SHOWTIME’s new seven-part limited series THE LOUDEST VOICE, starring Russell Crowe as Fox News founder Roger Ailes, premieres only Crave, while the hit late-night talk show DESUS & MERO expands to two nights a week (Mondays and Thursdays at 11 p.m. ET) for a special summer run. Upcoming guests include Seth Rogen, Spike Lee, Amy Poehler, and more.

Rounding out the lineup is the eight-episode second season of KILLING EVE which drops exclusively on Crave on Friday, June 7. Starring Golden Globe® winner Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, Season 2 picks up just 30 seconds after the end of the Season 1 finale. Villanelle has disappeared and Eve is left reeling, having no idea if the woman she stabbed is alive or dead. With both of them in deep trouble, Eve has to find Villanelle before someone else does… but unfortunately, she’s not the only person looking for her.
