Super Channel welcomes sizzling Fox movies

Super Channel, Canada’s only national pay television network, is pleased to announce a slate of Fox movies for August.

Aug. 6 – Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li
Starring – Kristin Kreuk, Chris Klein
The origins of the Street Fighter universe are explored through Chun-Li, who avenges her father’s death at the hands of Bison and his evil Shadaloo Empire. Now the stage is set, the challenge is clear, the legend will be forged…but who will prevail?

Aug. 7 – Australia
Starring – Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman Directed by Baz Luhrmann
In northern Australia at the beginning of World War II, an English aristocrat inherits a cattle station the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn stock-man to drive 2,000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country’s most unforgiving land.

Aug. 13 – Marley & Me
Starring – Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston
Based on the best selling novel, the story of a young couple contemplating the decision to have a baby. Then comes Marley, an adorable Labrador pup who flunks obedience school and quickly turns his new home into a disaster area. But over the years, it becomes clear the world’s worst dog truly brings out the best in them.

Aug. 14 – 12 Rounds
Starring – John Cena
When a New Orleans police detective stops a brilliant thief from getting away with a multimillion-dollar heist, the thief’s girlfriend is accidentally killed. After escaping from prison, the criminal mastermind enacts his revenge with 12 rounds of near-impossible puzzles and tasks that must somehow be completed to save the life of the woman he loves.

Aug. 21 – Miss March
From The Whitest Kids U’Know crew, this movie is about a young man who awakens from a four-year coma to hear that his once virginal high-school sweetheart has become a centerfold. Antics ensue as he and his sex-crazed best friend decide to take a cross-country road trip in order to crash a party at the magazine’s legendary mansion headquarters and win back the girl.

Aug. 28 – Dragonball: Evolution
Starring – Emmy Rossum, Chow Yun-Fat, Justin Chatwin
For his 18th birthday, mild-mannered Goku is given a mystical Dragonball, one of only seven in existence, which combine to grant a perfect wish to whoever possesses them. But Piccolo, an ancient warlord has escaped eternal imprisonment and is on his own quest to gather the Dragonballs. With the help of his friends and the power of his evolving martial arts skills, Goku must defeat Piccolo before it’s too late!
