RDS and RIS present the best Canadian junior hockey talent with combined coverage of the 2011 MASTERCARD MEMORIAL CUP, live from Mississauga, ON from May 20 to May 29.
The 2011 tournament features the top teams from each of the three junior hockey leagues that make up the Canadian Hockey League: the Saint John Sea Dogs (QJMHL), the Owen Sound Attack (OHL) and the Kootenay Ice (WHL). The tournament line-up is completed by the host team, the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors, who narrowly missed becoming OHL champions when they lost to Owen Sound in a 7th game matchup.
RDS and RIS will broadcast all games involving the winner of the QJMHL President’s Cup, the Saint John Sea Dogs – whose roster includes promising home-grown talent Jonathan Huberdeau – as well as the tournament semi-finals and final. The 2011 MASTERCARD MEMORIAL CUP coverage begins Friday at 7 p.m. ET on RIS, with the opening game featuring the Saint John Sea Dogs and the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors (see complete broadcast schedule below).
Junior hockey specialists Stéphane Leroux and Norman Flynn will be in Mississauga to provide live play-by-play and colour commentary of Memorial Cup games. Host Michel Y. Lacroix and analyst Gaston Therrien will broadcast from in-studio both before the games and in between periods.
In the early evening, HOCKEY 360° host David Arsenault will be accompanied by Gatineau Olympiques head coach Benoit Groulx – whose team was eliminated in 6th game overtime during the QJMHL finals – to analyze the day’s game and the event as a whole when RDS and RIS are broadcasting tournament games.

• WHL @ QJMHL – Tuesday, at 7 p.m. ET on RIS (11:30 p.m. on RDS)
• Semi-final – Friday, May 27 at 7 p.m. ET on RIS (10:30 p.m. on RDS)
• Final – Sunday, May 29 at 7 p.m. ET on RDS
Because of possible scheduling conflicts with the NHL playoffs, broadcast times for certain Memorial Cup games on RDS may be changed.
