TSN Primes Fans for NBA All-Star Weekend with Extensive Coverage from Chicago

Deep dish pizza and epic alley-oops are on the menu as the biggest stars in basketball come together for NBA All-Star Weekend, live from the United Center in Chicago. Representing the reigning NBA champion Toronto Raptors are first-time All-Star and starter Pascal Siakam, six-time All-Star Kyle Lowry, and head coach Nick Nurse. All three participate as part of Team Giannis, donning number 24 in remembrance of the late Kobe Bryant. Team LeBron will wear number 2 in honour of Gianna Bryant, and both teams will wear jersey patches displaying nine stars, representing those who lost their lives in the tragic accident on Jan. 26. Leading up to tipoff of the game, TSN tees up the excitement across SPORTSCENTRE, TSN.ca, and TSN’s official social media accounts throughout the weekend, delivering a jam-packed weekend of All-Star content, highlighted by:

  • An essay from former TSN personality Cabbie Richards, honouring the life and legacy of the late Kobe Bryant, airing in SPORTSCENTRE and on TSN.ca
  • An essay from Bruce Arthur detailing the thrilling NBA All-Star Game of 1988, the last time the event was held in Chicago, airing in SPORTSCENTRE and on TSN.ca
  • Kate Beirness conducts a sit-down interview with first time All-Star and starter Pascal Siakam, and walks fans through the new format for this year’s game
  • BarDown’s DZ and Sam Gliserman take on Chicago, delivering unique content and testing fans to see if they can replicate Michael Jordan’s iconic 14-foot dunk from 1988
  • DIGITAL SPORTSCENTRE features live, on-location hits from the Windy City
  • SPORTSCENTRE highlights the record four Canadians taking part in the Rising Stars Game on Saturday night (Memphis Grizzlies’ Brandon Clarke, New Orleans Pelicans’ Nickeil Alexander-Walker, New York Knicks’ RJ Barrett, and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous- Alexander)

The weekend culminates with the 69th NBA ALL-STAR GAME as team captains LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo headline the star-studded group. TSN’s exclusive live coverage begins Sunday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. ET with the NBA ALL-STAR PRE-GAME on TSN4.
