New Series The Hero, Hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Grueling 72 Hours to Premiere June 6

It’s a heart-stopping, adrenaline-pumping summer on SliceTM with the debut of two all-new reality-based series that challenge ordinary people in extraordinary situations testing their limits to the extreme. Coming exclusively to SliceTM on Thursday, June 6 are competition seriesThe Hero, hosted and executive produced by international superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson followed by the gripping 72 Hours which drops competitors into the wilderness to find a hidden suitcase full of cash.

Making its daring debut on Thursday, June 6 at 9pm ET/PT is the epic new series, The Hero, headlined by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Nine everyday contestants will be put through a series of challenges testing their brains, their brawn and even their morality as they try to prove that they deserve the title of “The Hero” and the life-changing prize that goes with it. With a chance to win up to a million dollars, competitors are pushed to the limits to see what they are willing – and able – to overcome, undergo, or even sacrifice for the sake of their fellow contestants. Johnson will serve as The Hero’s mentor and motivator, encouraging the contestants to reach far beyond their personal limits.

Taking adventure to a whole new level is the gut-wrenching series 72 Hours. Premiering on Thursday, June 6 at 10pm ET/PT, this drama-packed show heats up when it drops three competing teams of strangers into the wilderness with only a bottle of water, a GPS and 72 hours to find a briefcase filled with $100,000 cash. With every episode featuring three new teams each comprised of three strangers seeking the cash prize, competitors will have to navigate a wide variety of terrains including the mountainous Southern Rockies, the jungles of the South Pacific and the lush lagoons of Tasmania. Every strategic decision the teams make along the way will play a critical factor to how they finish in the competition. Teams must work through often confrontational situations to locate the briefcase together as one, or forfeit the prize.

The Hero is executive-produced by Electus (Ben SilvermanChris Grant and Jimmy Fox); 5×5 Media (part of the Electus studio system led by Craig Armstrong and Rick Ringbakk); Charles Wachter; Dwayne Johnson; and Dany Garcia.
