Score Media and Budweiser today announce a partnership that brings exclusive Bud House programming to fans across Canada. A groundbreaking online reality series produced by Ridley Scott Productions, Bud House brings together 32 FIFA World Cup™ fans from 32 countries all under one roof in South Africa.
Budweiser, the “official beer” of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, presents Bud House, where 32 passionate soccer fans from each of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ qualifying countries live together in a house in Cape Town during the big event. But when their team is eliminated so are their chances of winning the ultimate prize – attending the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ final match and presenting the Budweiser Man Of The Match trophy to the winning player. Although Canada is not participating in the World Cup they still have solid representation at Bud House. Dan, the lucky Canadian soccer fan who is acting as the house bartender throughout the competition, will be the neutral go-to guy who all competitors turn to as they live through the drama of the World Cup.
“Bud House is an extremely exciting global initiative for Budweiser during this 2010 FIFA World Cup,” said Christine Hamilton, Associate Brand Manager, Budweiser. “We are so pleased to have The Score’s partnership to help us bring this experience to Canadian fans.”
As a Canadian broadcaster of the reality series, with exclusive content airing on the network, The Score will broadcast daily footage from the Bud House on The Score with each episode also appearing on theScore.com complimenting The Score’s extensive line-up of FIFA World Cup™ coverage. From The Score’s 10 pm FIFA World Cup™ Tonight show airing nightly to daily online features, from “Cabbie’s Journey to South Africa” to the recent launch of ScoreMobile FC, The Score is the dedicated source for everything soccer.
“We have a great relationship with Budweiser and when they came to us with the Bud House program, we both knew The Score was the right media partner for this type of FIFA World Cup™ programming,” says Greg Sansone, Vice President Television, Score Media Inc. “We’re pleased to offer it to our audience.”
The integration of the Bud House content was driven by UM Canada, who identified the station as a key potential partner on this initiative.
“Both in terms of its appeal to the guys that Budweiser is communicating with, and the tonality of the station, The Score provides an excellent opportunity to optimize this great asset in a really vibrant fashion,” says Chris Killeavy, V-P, Director, Communication Strategies, UM Canada.
