The Score partners with CBC to Give Fans Access to 2010 FIFA World Cup ™

Score Media Inc. and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) today announced a partnership to deliver exclusive 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ content to viewers on The Score Television Network. The deal gives The Score access to extended highlights of each FIFA World Cup™ match as well as the ability to create additional exclusive FIFA World Cup™ content, including in-depth news content and behind-the-scenes coverage of every team.

This content will enable The Score to offer comprehensive coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ and act as a perfect complement to CBC’s extensive coverage. Key elements of The Score’s coverage include:

* “32 Countries in 32 Days” – commencing during the week of May 11th and running until the start of the tournament, The Score will preview one participating team each day and chronicle their journey to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™
* “FIFA World Cup™ Tonight” – hosted by the Score’s James Sharman and Sid Seixeiro, this original programming will premiere at 10 pm ET every day of the tournament and will give fans their nightly fix of FIFA World Cup™ action, including 10 minute extended highlight packages of every match, as well as all the day’s news and stories; this must-see programming will also air nightly at 10 pm PT and will repeat several times throughout each evening
* Short-form Content – in-depth player and team features, news reports and highlights will run throughout The Score’s daily programming schedule
* “Cabbie’s Journey to South Africa” – hosted by the one and only Cabral “Cabbie” Richards, this exclusive programming will capture the adventures of Cabbie as he experiences the fans, events and scenery of this exciting tournament

“As a licensed broadcaster, we’re thrilled to have access to extended highlights of every 2010 FIFA World Cup™ match, along with exclusive access and behind-the-scenes footage from every team as they compete in South Africa,” says Benjie Levy, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Score Media Inc. “We have a strong soccer following at The Score and we look forward to providing comprehensive coverage of this historic event in our unique style, in conjunction with our partners at CBC.”

The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ marks the first time an African nation will host the tournament.

“We’re pleased to welcome our partners at The Score,” said Scott Moore, Executive Director, CBC Sports and General Manager, CBC Media Sales & Marketing. “This June, we’re bringing Canadians more wide-ranging and in-depth coverage of the FIFA World Cup™ than ever before. The Score’s unique line-up will provide a terrific complement to our programming.”
