First Division club Leeds United try to take down another Premier League side in this season’s FA Cup when they host Tottenham Hotspur Wednesday, February 3 at 2:30 a.m. ET/ 11:30 a.m. PT live on Setanta Sports.
Leeds, which plays two divisions down from English football giant Tottenham, were not intimidated in their initial FA Cup meeting. Two second-half goals by striker Jermaine Beckford, at Spurs’ home field White Hart Lane forced the replay at Leads home ground Elland Road.
Tottenham appeared as though they would be through to the fifth round until Beckford was fouled in the area by Michael Dawson. Beckford coolly stepped up to the penalty spot and tied the match.
Leeds are looking for their second major upset after knocking off Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford in the 3rd round FA Cup play. Beckford was also the hero in that match as his marker in the 19th minute held up as the winner.
Tottenham sailed into the 4th round of The FA Cup with an easy 4-0 win over Coca Cola Football League club Peterborough. A loss to Leeds would leave send Spurs to the sidelines in this season’s FA Cup joining other Premier League powers including Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
