Oil Change Returns to Sportsnet for Third Season

This is Oil Country! Sportsnet keeps Oilers fans connected to their home team more than any other Canadian broadcaster with the return of Oil Change: Game On – a documentary television series that follows the young and exciting Edmonton Oilers through the 2013 NHL season. The third season of this popular series, featuring five one-hour episodes taking fans on the ice, in the dressing room and away from the rink both at home and on the road with the Oilers, kicks off tomorrow,Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 8 p.m. ET/6 p.m. MT  on Sportsnet ONE and 9 p.m. local time on Sportsnet West, Pacific and Ontario.

From the 2012 NHL Junior Entry Draft and ratification of the CBA, to a behind-the-scenes look at the coaches, trainers and players,Oil Change: Game On provides hockey fans a unique, all-access pass to the Oilers as they pursue their first playoff berth since 2006. The documentary series, produced by Aquila Productions, is highlighted by up-close looks at some of the Oilers’ brightest young stars including first overall pick Nail Yakupov, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and rookie sensation Justin Shultz.

The first episode of the five-part series is framed around the backdrop of the 113-day NHL lockout, culminating with the opening of the Oilers’ shortened 48-game season – a tough road game against the Vancouver Canucks, last year’s President’s Trophy winners.

All season long, Sportsnet will keep fans connected to their home team first with more Edmonton Oilers and Canadian NHL team games on TV than any other broadcaster, as well as unparalleled coverage across radio, digital and print. In addition to being the official regional television broadcast rights holders for the Edmonton Oilers, Sportsnet is the official regional television broadcast rights holder for the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames (including radio rights on Sportsnet 960 The FAN), Ottawa Senators, and Toronto Maple Leafs (including radio rights on Sportsnet 590 The FAN).
