Newfoundland is back in the national spotlight next week as the world’s best curlers slide into Conception Bay South for the BOOST National – the third event of the 2019-20 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season – from Dec. 10-15. Exclusive TV and streaming coverage of the premier curling event begins December 12 at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet NOW.
Returning to the Conception Bay South Arena for the second straight season, the BOOST National will feature 15 top men’s and 15 elite women’s teams from around the world. Led by hometown favourites and 11-time Grand Slam champion Team Gushue (St. John’s), the BOOST National will feature defending champion Team Homan (Ottawa), 2019 World Champions Team Edin (Karlstad, SWE) and Team Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI), nine-time Grand Slam champion Team Jones (Winnipeg), 2019 Pinty’s Cup winner Team Koe (Calgary) and reigning Olympic gold medallists Team Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE).
All participating teams will compete in a round-robin style bonspiel, contending for a combined $300,000 prize purse and a berth in the Humpty’s Champions Cup, the final Grand Slam event of the season.
