Hitting the ice for its ninth season as Canada’s exclusive home of the NHL, Sportsnet today unveiled its 2022-23 national NHL broadcast schedule. Serving up 155 exclusive English-language matchups across Sportsnet’s TV channels and SN NOW, Sportsnet’s national NHL coverage returns this October with its three marquee broadcast nights, including Hockey Night in Canada on Saturdays and Scotiabank Wednesday Night Hockey on Wednesday. National NHL coverage also returns to Sportsnet on Monday nights, with a new broadcast to be unveiled at a later date. (Full schedule attached and available here).
Bolstering the network’s exclusive slate of national broadcasts, Sportsnet will also deliver more than 190 regional matchups next season as the official regional TV and streaming broadcast rights holder for the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs. Key highlights of Sportsnet’s national NHL broadcast schedule include:
Scotiabank Wednesday Night Hockey – Wednesdays
- Sportsnet’s mid-week national night returns for the start of the 2022-23 season on October 12, featuring a double bill starting with Montreal Canadiens vs. Toronto Maple Leafs, followed by Vancouver Canucks vs. Edmonton Oilers
- Featuring 33 national games available coast-to-coast, all but one Scotiabank Wednesday Night Hockey matchup will feature a Canadian team on the ice
Hockey Night in Canada – Saturdays
- The national tradition continues on Saturday nights starting October 15 with four games on tap featuring six Canadian squads in action
- Hockey Night in Canada will feature 99 evening matchups, including a special Friday night editions on January 13 and January 27
- Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada returns for its 23rd broadcast marathon on January 21
NHL on Sportsnet – Mondays
- Returning to Canadian screens with a new look on October 18, Sportsnet will hit the ice to deliver 32 Monday night matchups
- Sportsnet to announce more details on the new broadcast closer to the start of the regular season
