Sportsnet Announces Toronto Maple Leafs Television and Radio Broadcast Schedules

Leafs Nation rejoice! Sportsnet today announced its 2013 Toronto Maple Leafs regional TV and radio broadcast schedule, featuring 14 regular season games on television and 24 regular season games on radio, kicking off coverage with the home opener on Monday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. ET on Sportsnet Ontario and Sportsnet 590 The FAN. All season long, Sportsnet will keep fans connected to their home team first with more Canadian NHL team games on TV than any other broadcaster, in addition to unparalleled coverage across radio, digital and print.

On TV

All of Sportsnet’s 14 regular season Toronto Maple Leafs telecasts will air on Sportsnet Ontario and will feature veteran play-by-play announcer Joe Bowen, analyst and former NHLer Greg Millen and host Paul HendrickHOCKEY CENTRAL will preview every game with a half hour pre-game show, and will also provide intermission and post-game analysis. Highlights from Sportsnet’s Toronto Maple Leafs regular season TVbroadcast schedule include:

·         Three Clashes of the QEW: Leafs battle theirborder rival Buffalo Sabres on Thur, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. ET, Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. ET and Thursday, March. 21 at 7 p.m. ET

·         March of the Penguins: Sid the Kid, Evgeni Malkin and the Pittsburgh Penguins make a visit to the ACC on Thursday, Mar. 14 at 7 p.m. ET

·         Leafs host Alex the Great: Buds welcome Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals on Thursday, Jan.31 at 7 p.m. ET

On Radio

Sportsnet 590 The FAN – already the go-to radio station for Leafs fans and, according to the most recent BBM survey*,  the overwhelming radio destination for Toronto sports fans – will broadcast 24 Leafs games, with Joe Bowen calling play-by-play, alongside analyst and former goalie Jim Ralph, and Dan Dunleavy.

Coverage of each Sportsnet 590 The FAN’s Leafs weekday broadcast will begin 30-minutes prior to puck drop**, as former Leafs GMGord Stellick and Ex-NHL Defenceman Ric Nattress host Leafs Nation Pre-Game – a “web-only” pre-game show. Gord and Ric host a two-hour edition of the show airing every Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. ET. The duo will then return following all 48 Leafs games for Leafs Nation Post-Game, the most in-depth and comprehensive Leafs wrap-up show on on-air today.
