Sportsnet Heats Up the Streets of T.O. With Comprehensive Coverage of the Honda Indy Toronto, July 12-14

Canada, get ready to race. This weekend, Sportsnet delivers more than 15 hours of exclusive Canadian coverage of theHonda Indy Toronto, headlined by the first-ever doubleheader IndyCar race in Toronto. Live coverage of Race #1 begins Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT, with Race # 2 going Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT – both available on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific. The Honda Toronto Indy is one of three locations on the 2013 IndyCar circuit that features two races and two winners in one weekend. Each race will have its own pre-race qualifying, full track laps, separate points and prize money allocated.

Prior to both races, a live one-hour Honda Toronto Indy Pre-Race Show will give fans the latest news from trackside including pre-race analysis, key features and driver interviews, along with a special edition of Connected anchoring live from the track on Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT (full details below).

This weekend’s races feature two Canadian drivers including Toronto-native and three-time 2013 IndyCar winner James Hinchcliffe, who will be seeking his first career victory in front of his hometown crowd. Alex Tagliani of Montreal will vie for his first win of the 2013 season.

Commentators

Sportsnet’s broadcast team will be trackside all weekend long to provide pre-race, in-race and post-race coverage of Honda Indy Toronto. Host Rob Faulds will be joined by former Champ Car champion Paul Tracy , pit reporter Todd Lewis, and Canadian Motorsport Hall of Famer and analyst Bill Adam. Reporter Shea Adam, Bill Adam’s daughter, rounds out the broadcast team, marking the first time a father/daughter duo has worked on-air for a Canadian auto racing broadcast.
